    Mhachi diaspora

I know it has been said that Belah'dia was founded by descendants of the Mhachi, who apparently controlled Thanalan back then.

Now what about the early Ishgard "Landlord" culture that migrated into Dravania and Coerthas in search of the "promised land"? Were they also from Mhach? The city was just south of Coerthas.

If they came from any of the major cities, and I suspect they didn't have to, Id say Amdipor is just as likely. After all, I could easily see plenty of Wildwood Elezen choosing to leave the Twelveswood rather than live underground.

I don't think so, since Belah'dia was founded by (Mhachi) mages to escape the persecution/hunts that mages suffered during the 6th Umbral Era. As far as I know Qarn/Thanalan was the only safe place for mages at the time from being killed in the witch hunts that were running rampant back then.

If anything, the early Ishgardians could very well have been Gelmorran/ forest-elezens

Ironically, the other great population of "Wildwood" Elezen is to be found in Ishgard. However, long decades of ceaseless warfare with the Dravanian Horde, the intensity of the faith of the Church of Halone, and most recently the years of bitter cold and snow have made the Elezen of Ishgard quite distinct culturally from their other Wildwood cousins.

Yes, it takes a fair bit of inference still, but what seems to have happened to the surviving populations of the War of the Magi combatant cities following the Sixth Umbral is this:

Amdapor: Population essentially splits in two. One part is totally repentant about their actions and seeks to make peace with the Elementals, fleeing underground and founding the cave-city of Gelmorra; the other half, however, basically says "Sod all of this" and leaves the Twelveswood behind entirely, striking out for other lands, perhaps in particular a land they'd heard of to the north and west that was sparsely inhabited but still habitable, and occupied perhaps only by a few dragons. This is the journey that would eventually be wrongly remembered as Thordan's in Ishgardian lore - in actuality, it must have happened some time before he was born, almost right after the flood waters receded. It seems to have been led by the living Shiva, instead. Obviously, they come into contact with the dragons, there is fighting, Hrae and Shiva meet, and history proceeds as we have learned.

Nym: This one's the least clear. As best can be told, it seems like the (heavily Plainsfolk) survivors of Nym may have fled up O'ghomoro to escape the waters, and then just spread around the island a bit, unable to forge another large, lasting state after the disruption of Nym. It wasn't until the Galadion crashed, and a population of Roegadyn were introduced, that the seeds of modern Limsa were planted - and the descendants of the Nymians simply integrated into, and influenced, Lominsan culture. This is why Plainsfolk make up such a significant portion of the population behind Sea Wolves and Midlanders - especially outside of Limsa itself!

Mhach: Basically what others have posted - the surviving Mhachi, as it turns out, were not especially welcome anywhere else in Hydaelyn (and particularly probably didn't find good treatment at the hands of the proto-Ishgardians and their draconic then-allies). The only place they could flee was south from Yafaem into Thanalan - really south, if the location of Qarn is any indication. After an indeterminate amount of time wandering to escape persecution, the descendants of the surviving mages did found Belah'dia, and history played out as we know it. This seems to have been a mix of Dunesfolk and Midlanders, and probably some Sunseekers.

There is, admittedly, a little speculation and inference here (partly just from observable distribution of populations and NPCs), but it should be accurate enough as an overview of what happened in early AE6. If nothing else, pretty much all of the current Eorzean cities do draw a line of descent from the Fifth Astral cities, with the only possible exception being Ala Mhigo (which may have been founded by Hyur migrants coming over the landbridge).

We know all of the Nymians infected with the Tonberry Plague (Inflicted upon them by Machi no less) were sealed away in suspended animation in The Wander's Palace by the Scholar Surito Carito (Possibly including some Hyur and Roegadyn as the size of the Tonberry Stalkers both varies AND is vastly larger than the Lalafell sized tonberrys like Surito). So some of the true blood Nymians still live, while the Amdapori live on through their Gridanian and Ishguardian descendants, while the Mhachi fled persecution from their home in, what is assumed to be, present day Mor Dohna to the southern reaches of The Sagolii Desert ultimately resulting in the Founding of Bela'diha and then from it the sister cities of Sil'dih and Ul'dah.

BUT, The real question is, Who The Hell built the Temple of Quarn? And What happened to them? Fern himself has said Allag had Nothing to do with Quran's construction. So considering these people were already LONG gone by the time the Machi repurposed the Sunken Temple's Ruins in the construction of Bela'diha did they Predate Allage? Did Allag Destroy them? Or could Quarn have been one of the 4th Umbral Civilizations founded in the wake of the fall of Allage? Only time will tell.

Kaiser look for the sightseeing log 62 in heavensward. I wouldnt say is a good answer but at least it gives us an idea.

Its gives a little lore about an ancient civilisation that was on Meracydia ( probably even older than allags ). Could there be some Miqote origins behond Qarn and the Catherdral?

Oh I found the node, Problem is actually LANDING in the window of the Cathedral. I can't seem to actually get there. >_>

But I'm assuming it's the same one about the tree worshipers you and Cilia have discussed before in the Warring Triad thread.

That is the one--you get there by landing on the top of the cathedral and very carefully dropping down the ledges twice.
