Verminion Tourneys: Pay to win. Again.

So, apparently Square didn't learn the first time around. After countless complaints of the rigged Triple Triad tournaments favoring win buyers, they still failed to do anything to prevent it in Verminion. Is it really too much to hope for a fighting chance without cheating, or is this just what we're going to have to resort to if we want any shot at seeing the top few places? Because the same players who are always top on TT, are yet again, buying their wins, and at the top of the ratings in LoV as well. Great job, Square. Way to take something that a lot of us were excited for, and ruin it yet again.

Has a tournament even been played yet? How do you know this will be the thing when you have to go through the duty finder? Can you pick what players you'll be up against for tournaments?

Tournament is in progress right now. The same player who always buys his wins for TT is currently undefeated in LoV right now, and at the top of the board. With as dead as queues are, it's a simple matter to fix your matches.

The same person who has been #1 or #2 on Triple Triad is #1 on LoV Tournament.
Since the start of Triple Triad it's been this way every tournament.

Disturbances that do not fall under the harassment category but are intended to prevent or hinder game play for others are considered inappropriate.

Would vaguely apply to what these people have admitted and explained to me how to do.

How is this not preventing or hindering game play for other players? I know the system is designed to reward more points in curtain circumstances. But exploiting those circumstances to the max for over a year takes away from everyone's gameplay experience.

This all makes me so sad in a game that I would say is better than any other. If there is anything to complain about this game this is it. PLEASE SQUARE-ENIX ;__;

All the tournament setups they have in this game are horrible.

They should just set it up like the Automated Tournaments in Starcraft, where it would be a queue of 16 people and when it pops all 16 will fight elimination matches against each other, with maybe the final match be a best of 3. Then the tournament is over. That way, tournaments can happen continuously and there is less chance of win trading.

This is a the sole reason why i do not bother with tournaments. They are unfair and SE is refusing to do anything against it.
Already been offered 1kk the other day to queue in and then lose VS someone else. Told em to f off and play the game normally. Also reported him(not sure if they deem it to be against the rules..)

Same with TT. why in heavens name would i waste my time with tournaments, When i know there is literally 0% for me even coming anywhere close near the 1-10 spots without playing unfair?
Cheating the system. Imo these people should get punished severely. Espescially the people that get 2-3-4 alts to do the trading with. So sad... so sad....

It's even easier to cheat in LoV tournament because of the way how it works
Don't want to give details to not give idea to even more people but damn, that's just dull.
And the most idiot part is that if you played a lot and won a lot out of tournament... YOU CAN'T WIN At the moment I m first on my server because I started at 0 RP when a friend started at 1000 RP and just have no point for the tournament.
Just remove this ranking rewards on tournament and just add condition like: "If you won x% of your games, you have max reward", cheaters will still be happy, people with high rank will still win something and everyone can play without being disturbed by these behaviors.

on me opinion, LoV tournaments needs a few changes

1)do not show names of the player you batle

2)no batles until theres at the very least 8 players waiting to enter on a tournament batle

I wish they'd make it true cross-server duty finder especially since they said it takes up duty finder instances anyway? (in response to a guy who was complaining about being locked out from withdrawing in the tutorial) Then make it so its a minimum of a 5 min wait then shuffle everyone so its not people who qued at the same time get to play each other. I already foresee another problem other then the win-buying in the fact that there just wont be enough legit people interested in playing on any single server, just as in choco racing. Im a bit salty that on hyperion im 99% sure at least one of the people whos beating me did a win-trade and I might get knocked down the leader-board, hopefully I stay high enough for a good prize. At least ill get the penguin after a month of work hopefully, after that I might stop trying.

Cheating in general in this game is actually NOT looked down upon by the devs. Hacks and exploits are definitely something they'll combat against though... well, game breaking ones that interrupt things like world first or ruin other players directly (like that old market board one). Don't get me wrong, they probably don't want you to do these lesser cheats, but they won't blame you for it in any way. Win-trading has existed since Wolves Den was introduced, and EVEN NOW, all they are apparently willing to do is say words like "please don't win-trade". Yoshi-P himself implied that they WILL NOT take action against people who do this. He literally made a statement that implies this when asked about the win-trading fiasco with WD when it was widely spread. Although, granted, he did at least preface it by saying people can report it if they want to.

Rather than banning them for this action, it’s better for us to find a method so players won’t do this, and everyone can have fun. That’s our job.

Those are the words of weakness. He's a good director when it comes to many aspects about this game, but it's spineless and jaw-droppingly naive to think that you can curb peoples want to cheat the system wherever they can and to avoid stating that bad behavior will not be tolerated. SE's handoff approach about player behavior is very pathetic. It's exactly why all these frustrations exist for side content intending to be fun and relaxing, exactly why frustrations exist in things like Diadem with leechers, and exactly why people who level through bots DO NOT get caught for it, even if widely reported and backed up with video evidence showing hacks used along with the bot. SE will not take action against players for bad play related behavior. Verbal and chat related harassment is another story... at least they got that going for them.

I like Yoshi-P and the devs, but they need to man up about the reality of how players behave. About how it will never become some utopia of peace and harmony. They can try to minimize it, but don't ignore it and allow it continue. They just come off as weak. Given how many botters there are that are still active after dozens of reports by numerous players for months, along with the sheer number of win-trading going on in the GS, I'd wager it's a fair assessment. Also as a side rant: They need to understand that just because RMT are impossible to get rid of, it doesn't mean they should almost completely give up on QoL improvements. Chat and FR filters are the end-all, be-all of RMT annoyances. Those filters, chat especially, are the simplest of things to program. Wouldn't put it past them to think that RMT can be reasoned with and made to not want to sell gil for RL currency, and instead play the game.
