Because dungeons are incredibly boring. Trash pulls are massive snooze-fests, and the sooner we are done with them the sooner I can forget that yes, I was actually just falling asleep with controller in hand.
People are just horribly understimating healer DPS in this topic. With all the new skills they gained from HW, WHM's have insane burst DPS potential (SCH aren't as bursty but its hardly something to laugh at). A good WHM, during a large pull, can easily out-DPS most DPSes, heck they could easily reach the top of the DPS chart if they know what they're doing and they are paired up with a competent tank.
I run 90% of my EX Roulette runs with a friend WHM (I play WAR) and in most runs we tend to contribute 50-70% of the group DPS, between us, (depending on how good/bad the DPS are) during trash mob pulls.
A good DPS healer paired up with an equally skilled tank doesn't just cut off the time of a run by "4-6 minutes", they could easily cut down the dungeon time by 30-40%. Most of the time we do runs we get DF DPS screaming out, "wow, this run was fast! =D". Little do they know it's because the tank and the healer worked well together.
I can certainly understand the reluctancy with various healers as DF Tanks are 70% horrible, my friend refuses to do DF with randoms and tells me to always tell him when im doing EX thanks to that. So healer DPS (at least SCH and WHM) is amazing, but only when paired up with an equally skilled tank. Half the blame for a bad DPS Healer lies in a bad Tank.
