Well Mate, if you think about how they make money, it's pretty obvious why they design that way. There is no MMO outthere without any form of grind. If someone doesn't like grind, MMO is clearly not a choice for them![]()
Theres no reason to do expert roulette as much anymore, I was capped on eso by Thursday personally with the 2 new dungeons, void ark, and like 7 exploratory missions. Also no need to buy eso gear anymore with tomestones really since you can just get 210 from diadem. I currently have 5 210 pieces for my MCH from 6 days of farming it.
The diadem did not broke the game also the whole reason why the gear there is ethereal gear for spirit binding getting materia and being ready for future content since they are going to make certain gear that weren't meldable, meldable

I don't care about them giving gear in diadem. What I do care about is how it is so goddam boring. I can't see how even the most casual of casuals find hitting mobs that are basically training dummies for 90m fun. It's basically got the worst of everything from this game: hunts, RNG on loot, players screwing each other over, and mind numbing grind. Not to mention that the mobs are annoying has hell because they aren't sight agro. Also, the whole finding aircurrents thing is ok the first time, but a complete waste of time any other time.
Just make the i210 gear also drop in savage alex and thordan extreme or something along with diadem. That way the casuals can have their cake, and the people who don't want to fall asleep grinding can do something interesting for gear.
You all know perfectly well that practically noone would run Diadem if the rewards were lesser than it is today.
You'd all be crying about how it's not worth it and you need an incentive to do it.
So your solution is the current zerg fest we have? I still don't see how people would "Grief" they would be wasting their time as well and if that's the case people can allready do that in normal dungeons. You can't prevent all griefing but to sacrifice gameplay to try?
Guess we have different priorities.
The diadem is perfect in theory since its a nice place where you find horizontal progression. You get all diferent levels of gear and the spoils allows you to get a transversal progression that goes from i150 to i210 and from L50 materials to Favor L60 materials.
Thing is, how was it implemented, once more, not so smartly, something we should already be used to with SE. Its always the same.
One nice feature, which could be called a "feature pack", is increased content outside combat and a fix of combat content itself. Sadly Diadem doesn`t offer much outside combat, even if you can get lots of stuff with the spoils, as gatherers there isn`t much, for crafters there is 0 interest of going there, and combat classes, well, were reduced to play turok since is the most rewarding thing to do for 1 and half hour there.
My changes would be:
-Crafting goals: There are a few estructures arroud, allow players to use their crafting classes as if they were doing company projects in a workshop, thus, getting experience and spoil rewards for enhancing diverse infraestructures arround the diadem instance. Estructures could enhance spawn and drop rates, also help in combat with buff/debuffs.
-More Gathering content: Give more diverse nodes, also allow for a diversification of materials gotten, just like killing monster make better monster spawn, mining or harvesting enough nodes should not only make spawn rare hidden materials but higher level nodes with diferent and more rare materials. Adamantite or even Favor materials themselves.
-Combat content balance:I would fix the disparity between the combat zones, making spawn rates and rarity of the monsters more equal between them all, so, it becomes the pick of the players and not the pick of whats more convinient which island to visit, i would also add some particular kind of extra rewards depending on the kind of islands the players decide to search for star monsters.
The idea is to, eliminate the feeling of "being losing time" if you are doing anything outside zerging dino island.

im most casual of casual, and enjoying diadem. i can grind gear/materia there, and if something wrong happen with the party i can gathering with my botanist/miner/fisher, and craft the gathered item to glamour, and sell it for gil. diadem is only feature in this game that rewarding player who have battle class and gathering at the same feature, thats why in enjoy it. are raid/dungeon reward you for having battle class and crafting class at the same time? no, not at all, thats a flaw in a game that is possible to leveling all of the class available in one character.
and you doesnt want RNG in a MMORPG? RNG and grinding is bread of butter in almost all MMORPG, tell me a MMORPG that doesnt have a grind and RNG to get a good gear/good reward, because until now i dont know a MMORPG that have a less RNG in gear progression than this game, ever. this game doesnt have a enchancing equipment (+1 +2 +3 dst) system, doesnt have a proper gear customizing system, all of gearing before diadem is REALLY REALLY REALLY BORING.

I get you like it, but they are making this the only way to get good gear, and in that way it's forcing people who really don't like diadem but want to be ready to raid to go and do it.
Again, nothing wrong with liking it, but they should have made alternative ways to get the gear. IE: if a single i210 piece drops per savage alex or thordan ex along with the normal loot.
Or another way to make diadem interesting is maybe you have to complete all the challenges in the mission log (not just 3) and every person gets a token they can trade for a "goodie box" for a specific job (like "BLM gear box") which when opened, gives a random i210 piece for that job. That would make people do the missions, instead of just farming on dinosaur island.
