I think you hit the nail on the head with the current system of Gold Saucer DF. I think SE needs to think careful about expanding Verminion and Chocobo Racing to Data Center DF and able to queue anywhere.

Currently, many players are participating in a wide variety of content released in Patch 3.1. Due to this, there are times where there are less participants available for the Player Battle (RP) mode. As such, the dev. team is aware of the situation where players are being matched with other players who have exceedingly different levels of rank points. We are hoping more players will participate in Lord of Verminion in the future; however, as a permanent measure, we are considering changing the matching system from World-only, to a Data Center-wide matching system, similar to the Duty Finder. It would require some time to make this change, but we're currently considering this option.

but no word about the possible abuse of the lords of verminion torunament with the server-wide system and no word about chocobo races.

It'd be more difficult to implement since everyone's chocobos have various levels and there'd be some cases of unfair matches.

I'm not sure if players would like this, but a selection of "tournament-sanctioned chocobos" could bypass this.

But chocobo racing would face additional problems even compared to Verminion, which isn't exactly hopping a month after release.

...I want a legitmate excuse for why I spent close to 1mil mgp on my racing chocobos... ..Please make a tourney, I am tempted to set up my own in the pf "100k to whoever can beat me in a chocobo race"

My chocobo is a max stat, pedigree 9, 300 rating chocobo... And it means nothing because there's no player racers D:

I lost interest in chocobo racing because leveling your chocobo was just such a grind for no reward. Just getting your first rank 40 chocobo takes weeks of grind. Could something be added to hasten this? Something like having racing chocobo exp added to the chocobo racing Challenge Log entries?

Made a suggest on another thread but how about an achievement feed that turns your chocobo copper, silver, or gold instantly?

For me it was more that new courses were just old courses with a Goobbue or something added, which took a lot of the thrill out of ranking up. I still do them while watching something in another window as they're a very low-effort way to get MGP.

New courses would be awesome, on a somewhat regular basis...but they need to focus on fixing participation as well (new courses would help with that, of course). A real DF might help, tourneys might help, new achievement rewards might help...something to give it a purpose beyond, well...what there is now...
