The dropped rate has been increased significantly, somewhere from around 1-5% to 15-25%+ (from my experience in farming the ponies).

Oh, I know that, but it still requires work to get. I know because I use to pony farm when it was really big back before HW release, and this was after drop rate increase. I never did get mine because they dropped fast from GEX and TEX, but days of running IEX and no pony, and have yet to get any from the other primals. My first day of running IEX, no one would stay, so I never could get my pony even though myself and a couple others never left. Eventually after some days of running IEX I said forget it as I was sick of running it. Figured maybe I'll come back and pony farm in the future. So basically IEX was a brick wall.

EDIT: I actually don't mind drop rates increasing on things. I did atmas when drop rate was super lower before they increased it, but I wasn't angry after drop rate increased as they still had to put in some effort for them, and was happy they didn't have to go through as much torture as we did before drop rate increase. People that get upset when something is made easier for everyone else to get after them and others had to work harder, have the wrong mindset.

Found this thread through google, and recently I have been bothered by similar woes related to exclusive items. I'm going to use it to make an enormous rant, it'll take me some time to get my point across - and a few consecutive posts.

I am a 1.0 player, with legacy status - to me the exclusive legacy content is completely understandable. There's a lot of things I have missed and I am OK with that. I've learned to move on with my OCD minimalist issues. If you have trouble understanding how it's minimalist, I will explain in a future post.

2.0 and 3.0 have presented us with a lot more exclusive items, things that shouldn't particularly exist outside of purchasing the game itself unless it's from a constantly available source. Firstly, with the arrival of lord of verminion, there are actually quite a number of exclusive minions that can be used now. It would make sense to me that at least SOME of those minions make a return, because we did not anticipate minions to affect anything later on in the game - and it's just good for the health of the community. Some may ask how is it fair that they bring back an exclusive item, it should be special. Well put it this way, there is no loss. What could possibly be lost because people get to enjoy something? What could be possibly lost in terms of SE's profit, it could only gain. It is essentially a win-win situation.

The only loss is the giant ego people with more money at the time have. These in-game exclusive items are not just rewards for participating in an event, they are PROMOTIONAL. This means that it gives people more incentive to actually pay, it's a selling point and a very toxic one at that.

Now don't get me wrong, if you have issues with money you probably should not be playing this game. But yunno shit happens right? Sometimes people miss out because they are too poor, maybe they had something very important to do and missed the notifications. If they had kept this even more exclusive - to where you had to attend the REAL event. How awful is that for the thousands of customers who just cannot do that? People without the possibility of going at all, like me, a 5-year paying customer who lives in New Zealand. OK so they release the codes for those who participate in the live-stream event.

Why should we even have to PAY to watch a stream, which should really otherwise be live for free. You do nothing, and we all know the main incentive was for that item and not the event. We all know it, so don't try that "special" memories crap on me. I KNOW many many people who paid to watch that event JUST for the item and never viewed it for more than 20mins. So why is it so horrible to sell this item on the mogstation? In fact why are we PAYING for these items in general, we already pay for a sub. Now forgive me if I sound rather cheap - I understand entirely that this supports the company more. But this is why we have events, this is why we have the veteran reward system. We should have the option to earn credits toward those items IN GAME.

I fully understand your stance on the Kirin, and similarly with the Zodiac weapons. I am royally ticked off at the complete insensitivity SE has had for their already loyal players. The sheer amount of time, effort and gil spent on these "in-game ACTUALLY SPECIAL" items have been reduced to no more than an easy to obtain glamour. I understand that content must be kept relevant, I understand that people need to catch up. But why the zodiac? why the kirin? As far as I know, neither of these items are part of the catching up process. Neither of them are NECESSARY by any means. Instead they ripped off their loyal players to give instant gratification to new ones, which is totally unacceptable. If you want something OPTIONAL, you work for it and you work hard. Don't fecking shit on your loyal customers in favour of new ones. PAY SPECIAL ATTENTION TO THE ONES YOU HAVE ALREADY FML.

I could handle the small fixes to the questlines and drop rates etc, but this butchering got so bad that it just made me feel extremely horrible to the point I had to stop playing for a while. I've taken this experience as a learning one, to never ever EVER grind for something in this game. Play casually. Play for fun. Eventually you can obtain everything you wanted in one day.

The reason why I made a giant rant like this? It's to give a little more depth and a legitimate opinion from someone who actually deserves to have some input. I don't care about anything being special anymore - because it's not special. None of it. SE are being complete bell-ends with some of these decisions.

Oh the Zodiac is too long of a quest? What? Did you guys not anticipate that the game would be continuing? I'm sorry, next time make the freaking quest this easy right from the start instead of ripping the more loyal players off!

So for those against the return of exclusive items, please. Please explain to me how paying for access to something should grant the promotional items more special-treatment? I thousands of hours of my life getting an item that took effort, it took dedication. How do you think it feels to lose more than just working 2 hours of minimum wage?

ALL exclusive items need to return.
I won't even get started on their ridiculously overpriced ugly plushies that come with promotional codes. They really need to cut this crap out asap. Either put digital exclusives the mogstation permanently or not at all. Unless they DO plan on selling these things eventually - they really need to up their game and make a statement about it.

Seriously, it has one of the coolest animations etc and yet it's EXCLUSIVE to only those people who could afford it during the first run.
An item that rightfully should be a drop in-game has been lowered to being a promotional item slapped on an expensive item.

TBH I wouldn't even be nearly as bothered with this if the whole OST exclusive items hadn't recently annoyed me.
At LEAST the plush promotional codes still come with the damn product? Why the heck are they putting a limit on something INFINITE when it comes free on an expensive product?

Hardly anybody is going to buy that OST now.
