Launcher won't remember User ID when ticked

I use Windows 7 and Firefox as my main browser. I have followed the solution detailed here http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...-on-Windows-10 and have checked to Run As Administrator every time, but no dice. Every time I start the game I have to enter my userid. Any solutions other than the above?

Still experiencing this, bringing it back to the top.

I'm not using Microsoft edge, but in Internet Explorer I've checked to accept all cookies so it should be fine. Still not working. =/ I appreciate the input though.

The Launcher uses the system's webview (which is MS Edge) so even if it isn't your default browser, you may need to set it there. Did you allow the login domain/site in IE11's security zone?

I did, as detailed in the OP. None of the above fixes work for me. All of the solutions seem to refer to Windows 10, which I am not using either.

Bringing it back to page 1 in the hopes that a SE staff or someone with a solution sees it (already submitted a support ticket weeks ago)

Might need to add the sites likely used by the launcher to your trusted sites and security software (including Windows Defender if active). Some have in fact reported that turning off Defender has resolved various issues in the past...may be worth a shot, especially if you are using a third-party anti-virus/malware option already.

You can get to the internet properties for Windows (and also some of the Windows built-in browser options, be that IE or Edge) by running inetcpl.cpl from the search/run box. Try adding these sites to trusted sites and cookie management options for your internet properties and security software exception lists:

    frontier.ffxiv.com
    secure.square-enix.com
    ffxiv-login.square-enix.com
    square-enix.com

While in there, make sure to stop by the advanced tab to make sure the TLS options are enabled in the security section towards the bottom. More and more sites are migrating to 1.2, and causing weirdness for people that don't have them enabled.

    Edit:
Oh yeah, and make sure if something is deleting your cookies periodically that you create exceptions to save the ones that may be related to FFXIV. Any of them referencing those same sites are possible candidates. Note that there may be an option in your browser to delete cookies/temp files on exit and such as well. Some maintenance utilities may also clear cookies by default--possibly as part of the temp file cleanup routine. So make sure to double-check those as well.
