No offence but I was gathering at your level Jan of this year and yes you could make a small profit. Gold sand was great for a while but that ended up over mined and now sells for a tiny percentage of what it did sell for.

And as far as catalysts is concerned you're not quite high enough level to actually be a provider of the higher level catalyst. You're more of a consumer at this point so I'm sure you are glad the process rate went up.

As far as Catalysts are concerned I am more then capable of getting my own catalysts from the higher grades, yes it's much slower, but I am still very capable of doing it. To highlight one of your comments though if the only thing you could do is make a slight profit off of gold sand when you were my level...

Well then you really need to re-evaluate what your doing wrong, because I'm making a metric asston of gil off my current level.

If you thought catalysts would stay up in price if they hadn't fixed Fingerprint, you're either a hopeless optimist or a complete fool. Based on Yoshi's statements and other dev comments, it was never meant to be a rare set of items. They were meant to be common, so as to make materia slotting available to all.

If you weren't making a profit gathering before materia and catalysts, you were doing it wrong. If the only reason you pursue anything is out of profit or what you can get out of it, then you need to seriously reexamine your priorities. There are more reasons to do things than profit. You just made me very happy that I don't know you. If I did, I would probably hit you.

As for difficulty, tedious and time consuming do not in any way equal hard. It's probably the most relaxing way to level I've ever encountered in any game. No fuss, no other people to put a wrench in things. Just peace. Almost zen-like after a little bit once you get a rhythm going.
