    Is it possible to do this as a caster? If so, how?

    Flashfreeze THM Level 30 Can Incapacitate monsters but iirc it can't actually break horns.

    To do that you would need to equip the weaponskills...

    Concussive Blow II
    Skull Sunder II
    Shrieker

    Oh and you have to be facing the mob head to get the message that..

    Your such and such hits the monster on the horns for xxx damage.

    You have to do enough damage to the horns before they break, I know on my PUG when it was rank 25 required 3 Concussive Blows II on an Aldgoats head for around 125-150 dmg each before the horns would break.

    On your Mage class, and since they nerfed mage melee damage I don't know if you could generate enough damage to do so. Do give it a try though.
