[LS Recruitment] Raiding linkshells aimed at helping you get into endgame

Having a difficult time breaking into or mastering any level of end game (3.x EX Primals or Raids)? Several linkshells available to help out.

Leave details here or contact me privately through the forums/in game if you need help breaking into or mastering end game content (up to and including A2S - and within a week or so Thordan EX) and are tired of doing so through other channels for whatever reason; I can help place you into the proper Linkshell for your needs in order to help group you with the right type of players to meet your goals.

Be open to the idea that you'll probably have to wipe on a lot of stuff as you learn it, and also be open to receiving feedback about how you handle mechanics or perform at your given role without taking personal offense; feedback in any group I'm personally running will never be tinged with the implication you are "a bad" as that isn't a productive learning/teaching environment.

Understand this is a free offer of help and is done in the spare time I have off from my own progression raiding; it's time I could spend leveling other classes, crafting/gathering, or helping people in my FC. Nothing is required from you for this free time and I'm more than happy to help organize stuff if and when people ask for it; otherwise I might try to initiate something by asking about interest while I'm on and not doing other stuff. Just understand I'm not always available, and sometimes I'd like to do other stuff . Gil donations of any amount are also super nice but by no means required at any point in the process, but I do try to go out of my way to make sure people get their gil's worth as well.

Parties formed via the LSes you might get placed into are ideally organized around similar levels of experience so this by no means an "easy clear/get carried" kind of a gig; it's more of a guided tour to end game and the types of mentalities, attitudes and outside research/personal optimizations that need to be made to be an effective raider.

If you're interested in trying to form your own static but unsure of what really goes into it I'd love to offer tips and advice towards those ends as well; and some of the members in these LSes might end up being the types of players you'd want in your static.

If you're wondering why you should listen to me or take my advice on anything you can check me out on FFLogs (John Igal / Lamia) and read a bit of my thoughts on some issues that can gum up a lot of groups.

You can also, of course, think I'm a scrub and harass me in and out of game, to my face and behind my back. Happy raiding, Lamia!

Bump, these LSes are continuing to grow and many are finding them very helpful for Thordan. (Interest in A1S/A2S is a tad lower at the moment due to Thordan being easier to PUG, but once Thordan excitement dies down and people look into statics again, particularly so that they can start tackling A3S/A4S, I expect to be organizing more Savage parties.)

Some more thoughts on raiding.

Note that I do not tolerate undue toxicity in my LSes; if you don't like the prospect of potentially grouping with players you think are inferior to you nor are you particularly attracted to the prospect of wiping while people get experience with and a handle on mechanics, these aren't the LSes for you. Moreover these are not designed to get people easy clears or carries - they're designed to build up player skill and competency by helping people locate resources for improvement they might not have known about as well as giving people invaluable in-game experience on content it can be difficult to get productive groups for.

Still recruiting for these LSes, by the by, and they've been getting some decent use of late. I'm looking to structure my time a bit more around a schedule so that people can anticipate when I'll be around to host learning/teaching parties for things like Thordan and A1S/A2S.

I've been looking to speak with you regarding the linkshells.. What timezone do you play in ?

i'm usually on between 5PM - 11PM eastern during the week and any given time during the weekend.

Because I have the distinct privilege of being a military pension collecting no lifer, you can find me on at any time, really.

Now that the dust has more or less settled on my own personal static and anticipating regular raid times is a bit easier, as well as having the dust settled a bit on how the FC I'm in is going to be organized and growing, I can start building a more regular in-game schedule for these types of activities. Some people have contacted me privately about discontent with how they seem to be unable to get into parties with me for the various teaching/learning parties I might organize, and strangeness of complaining about a free and voluntary service aside, there's not a lot I can really do about that beyond being more predictable about it. Before, it was just whenever I had the time to set aside to two or three hours of walking people through a fight and maybe never seeing a clear or anything else out of it, I would broadcast to the linkshells and see who was interested and fill the party that way (going to PF for the final slot or two if needed).

Moving forward I can perhaps set aside time slots to "I'll be trying to organize these types of parties for these types of content during these blocks of time on these days every week" so people know when I'll personally be doing stuff. Part of the idea of the linkshell too, however, is that it is a resource for people to find others for their own learning and clear parties. Also I try to make use of the Lodestone's built in Event Recruitment functionality for these types of things as well so there's a resource to see what type of party is going on, who might already be interested in coming and in what job capacity, and so on.
