    Dancer Class

I've been wanting to see a class like this come to FFXIV for a while now, and thought it'd be a great addition to the game. Especially since I recently found out it's a class in FFXI! ~U~

I'm not completely sure how Dancer Class would work in XIV, but here is how I think it might turn out:

Dancer Class would be a DPS class that would use Chakrams as their main weapons for attacking and stacking additional damage by lacing their weapons with poisons, while using their dance moves to buff themselves and allies up, while debuffing or status affecting the enemy. Dancers would be a mid range to close range class, mostly attacking and supporting in between close and long range players and only coming in close to deal stack damage to their enemies.

Their stats would be similar to Rogue/Ninja and Pugilist/Monk, relying on their dexterity for attacking while having weak defense and magic defense. Buffing and debuffing through dance moves would require using MP, while physical attacks would obviously be using TP. Like Bard, Dancer class would have the ability to restore the MP and TP of others. The Dancer's own TP and MP, however, could restore itself by using an ability similar to Conjurer/White Mage's Cleric Stance, where it'll switch from a supportive stance to an attacking stance.

When in Attack Stance, if the player uses up all their MP while in Support Stance, then their MP will restore itself bit by bit (around Regen's HP restoration speed) so long as they stay in Attack Stance and vise versa with Support Stance. The stance switch ability would have a longer recast timer than Cleric Stance, so players wouldn't be able to gain a ridiculously high advantage in battles and abuse the ability, but be long enough to where they can gain a reasonable advantage; especially during Fates, Duties etc... Where players need to do a certain amount of damage to an emeny or any of their supports before getting hit with either an instant wipe or stacked with tons of status effects and or debuffs.

Uniquely, Dancer Classes Limit Break could have two different types of LB depending on which stance they're in.

If in Support Stance, their LB would make all allies, including themselves, invisible for 10-15 seconds (if two bars) and a full minute (if three bars). One bar would only give a all stats boast to all allies including the Dancer who cast it for 10-15 seconds. If in Attack Stance, then Dancer Class would simply attack mid range by summoning one large Halo like Chakram (if one bar), two holy Chakrams (if two bars), or a sacred like giant avatar (if three bars and similar to summoner's LB) and strike the enemy either a few times (one and two bars) or simply once (three bars and similar to Odin's instant kill strike).

Clothing wise, Dancer would where light non-armor clothes and would share clothes with all other physical DPS (except Lancer/ Dragoon's armor clothes), unless clothes are only uniquely for a single type of class (Like Machinist and Archer/Bard having their own unique only-wear gear).

Dancer Class could appear as a new Guild in either Ul'Dah or Ala Mhigo if we get an expansion pack for it.

...And that's all I have for right now. XD But I'm really hoping for something like this to come to FF XIV! It would make a great addition to the DPS roster and would be a big help in certain duties and fates! And I'd also like to see what all the races would look like in their Dancer's Gear~ ;3

I'm always glad to see another use for the Scouting set and Dancer dps could work. I'd just like some clarification.

Bards don't recover MP at all outside of natural regen, and whitemages have a 80potency MP regen (after trait buff); so why would Dancer need a 150 potency MP regen (2x stronger than WHM) if they don't have mp skills? FYI: Regen is a 150 potency heal over time, which is the amount of MP you're saying they'd recover in a toggled stance with no long CD.

Otherwise, I'd also like to see some more variation in Limitbreaks in the next patch, but assuming SE doesn't design unique LBs for every job (it is going to be a ton of work balancing them) and you had to choose just one: would you use the melee LB or ranged LB?

Also, what use is invisible? Does it remove enmity (might be bad for tanks)? Does it allow ninjas to use sneak attack again (very limited to only one class and prolly not good to trade a 2300 potency attack for a 500 potency sneak attack)? Or did you mean invincible (Like a group Hallowed Ground/ Tank LB)?

    These are just some notes:
you can go past the 1000 char limit by using the edit button. This way you don't have to make multiple posts.
Monks base their damage off STR and Ninjas base off DEX. This is why Ninjas use armors of Scouting and Monks use armors of Striking. They're both dextrous classes and have similar character models so I get the general idea you're going for still.

    - For Bard, I meant Dancer could restore other's MP and TP with a restoration overtime ability. Though I haven't thought through how it'd exactly work. ^^;

    - Didn't know White Mage had that big of a MP regeneration. Okay, I take back what I said about regen like MP recovery for Dancer. XD Thanks for pointing that out, Anova. ^^ But I was thinking Dancer could use MP through their dance skills, since those are used to buff allies and debuff enemies and it'd save TP.

    - I'd choose Melee for LB, because watching a Dancer use the same Ranged Limit Break as Archer/Bard and Machinist wouldn't look right.

    - I meant invincibility! XD And my reasoning behind that is because some times during certain group battles, bosses tend to throw out ulitmate attacks that tend to kill everyone off, like Odin's instant kill move. So I was thinking a temporary invincible status Limit Break would help make going up against opponents like that easier.

    - Really!? 0.0 Wish I found that edit button yesterday, thanks for telling me, Anova! ^^
    - Oh~ I always forget about with Monk. XD Yeah, Dancer relying on dexterity since it would be a light weight class like Ninja and is mostly mid ranged.

I like the idea but the LB in support stance sounds like a ultra overpowerd tank LB. Tank LB wears off after a few seconds so regardless what rank, so a rank 3 LB from the Dancer should just do invincible for max 5 secs at highest. The LB should be more like buffing the group or it will compete to much with the tanks LB.
If the dances and other stuff is well thought and balanced it could be a good melee supporter.

I'm actually looking forward to a dancer class i the future. Always wanted to play one in FFXI but I didn't get to far on my own so I just watched someone else with it and it was awesome X) Also we have so many references we can use now, dancer class would be an easy hit with the playerbase.

For one we have Shantae from Shantae and the Pirates Curse

Mint from Threads of Fate (she isn't a daner but she uses chakrams and casts magic)

Yuna from Final Fantasy X2 (technically a songstress but uses dances too like Darkness Dance)

Of course they to give us more moves than that.
I think we really need this, it'd be a different ball game for dps, kinda like astrologen.

hmm.. I can see dancer but not in the old traditional way. Maybe like...a blade dancer. oh and I'd hope that when they are paired with bard certain skills get an additional effect. Not my favorite job but I still liked it in tactics.
