    PC Upgrade

With black friday right around the corner I was hopeing to get some feedback on what I should be buying to upgrade my PC.

I will reuse my case, 600w power supply, i have 2x 1tb hdd (they are slow 5400 i think) and a valid windows 7/10 license.

That being said what should I get as far as an SSD, motherboard, gpu and cpu? I use my pc for gaming (ffxiv, counter strike, assassins creed, civ 5, pretty much everything) and will often stream netflix or youtube on my second monitor at the same time. I have a budget of a $1000 but would go higher if it would make a significant difference.

    Any help is much appreciated
    Thanks

Just a word of caution...the newer GPU's can eat some power. Depending on what you have and look to upgrade to, you may need to update the power supply as well--especially if there will be overclocking involved. Note that some are overclocked from reference specs and will consume more power than the standard--have seen them draw around 300w or more on the GPU alone.

This game is still very CPU intensive--plateau point for performance/cost ratio hits a couple generations back on the GPU side, so you want to make sure you have a strong CPU and good memory as well. Massive horsepower in the GPU doesn't do much good if you aren't feeding it the data fast enough.

Go with a fairly high end CPU and higher speed memory and then choose the GPU based on the other games based on their demands. One thing to be mindful of too is memory configuration--want higher bit width (256 bit over 128, etc) and higher architecture (Higher GDDR types and such). Seriously...you can get good eye candy and 60+ frame rates out of a 3 year old GPU in this game. My i7 laptop from 2012 runs 50+ even with decent quality settings--30+ if I ramp it up into high quality levels. Can do 40+ on a PC cobbled together with 2009 hardware--talking an overclocked C2D E8400 and high speed DDR2-8800 with an AMD 6870.

Buy a new GPU, GTX-980 is more than enough for the games you mentioned.

and you should get a new power supply. old power sup can cause a power shortage that physically damage your new and pricy hardwares. It's not worth it if a $60 PSU destroys your $1000+ PC.
