Can we get furniture that changes the music that plays in the estate, please? Or even better yet, extends to the outside property/housing zone. Could even make unlocking different songs part of an FC related system.

Great idea. But I doubt we'd get new soundtracks specifically for housing.

What kind of music would you want in your house and why?

I'd go with "Magiteknical Difficulties".
It's a remix of the FF6 Terra theme (my favorite FF so far) and totally fits my house's concept as a workshop. The primal themes are great, but I could do without the latin chanting in my house. It's not a temple.

Well, you're in luck because a jukebox item that will allow the BGM in a house to be changed has been confirmed as in development (a furnishing previously found in FFXI called an 'orchestrion' which did the same thing), although there is no date yet given as to when it will be released (possibly the 3.2 patch or sometime thereafter), as stated in these two Letters from the Producer LIVE video transcripts.

Firstly, this is the initial announcement:

A: Yoshida: I think this kind of item would be a nice addition. Just the other day I was looking over documents for an item named “Orchestrion.” It said you’ll be able to obtain songs in some way and play them whenever you want. After this is implemented we're planning to add new songs for it with each patch.

Soken: If there's a spec document for a jukebox, then we can add it.

Yoshida: We're aiming to implement the Orchestrion in Patch 3.0 or 3.1.

Then, there was nothing mentioned for a while until this recent thread mentioned it again and confirmed it:

Additionally, we’ve been receiving comments where players would like to change the BGM of their house, and we’re currently working on a system called “Orchestrion.” However, there has been a delay for this, so please wait just a bit longer.

So yeah, just have patience, it's coming.
