    HUD layout

    Hello,

Is there a way to copy the Hud layout of my main character and paste it on my alt characters?

If yes, how? And where can I find the files necessary to do so?

    Also, does SE allow this?
(Because many gaming companies do not allow their players to change game files)

EDIT: Scratch that, there's a UI backup option on the Launcher under the Config tab at the bottom. I keep forgetting they added this option last year xD.

If by Alt Characters you mean a different account, I doubt it.

Even when changing computers, you'll have to go and to redo the whole dang thing >.<

Would be nice to have a save option ^^

    What system?

On PC it's just a matter of coping a few files.

on PS3/4 nope can't be done.

    C:\Users\(username)\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn
    Each folder = one character

C:\Users\Desktop\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn copy all those files from there and you will the real backup of your custom UI's bars from ALL your chars. The launcher backup setting backs up only the game settings and not the character's UI / skill bars etc

I don't think this answers my question though. This makes a backup of the whole account, which is not what I want.

I want to copy the HUD layout of my main char which is Bunny Hop, and paste it on my alt characters (within this account) so I don't have to waste lots of time putting my HUD layout the way I want.

    @ CrystalRainbow and Riardon,

    Thank you for the help.

Now I have to figure out which of those maps are Bunny Hop's. Sadly I share this game with my bf on 1 pc (temporarily, because my pc broke)
And we have 4 characters each and I see 7 folders in that map...

Theres no ingame or launcher interface to do this, but the manual way is to check this folder:

    C:\Users\<user>\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn
To shorten explanation lets call this folder the GameDoc folder

There will be folders with the name "FFXIV_CHR000000000000000" These are character settings. Each char has a unique ID.

    0. Logout of the game and sit at the character select screen.

    1. To start, make a backup copy of each of these character folders in a separate folder on your desktop. Do Not delete this backup folder until you feel you've successfully completed your task.

    2. Now we need to identify which CHR### belongs to what character, to do this we need to wipe out all the CHR### folders in the GameDoc folder, don't worry you made a backup with step 1.

    3. Login the character you wish to copy the UI for. Now look inside the GameDoc folder and you will see that the game created a new CHR### folder. write down that number, that is the unique and permanent ID assigned to that char across all JP/NA/EU servers.

    4. From the backup folder, copy the CHR### folder that corresponds to the number you just written down.

    5. Make multiple copies of this CHR### folder in the GameDoc folder, modify the name of each folder according to each char's unique ID.

    6. Repeat step 3 for each of your chars to find out each of their unique ID's, and rename each copy of the Master CHR### folder accordingly.

This will copy, chat settings, UI layout, inventory settings, character settings, and hotbar layouts and settings.

This doesn't break the game in any way as i've been doing this ever since i started creating alts.
