Voice Acting in HW. I forgot...

I really forgot how much I absolutely hate the voice acting in HW until I heard the voice of Krile.

I mean... they all sound the same, these absolutely horrible fake whiney British accents.

Yeah yeah you can turn on the JP voice overs but come on... It takes away from the immersion.

Raubahns voice pre HW was SO strong! Alphinaud had character! They sounded unique.

All of them just sound like generic, high pitched crap now. Its absolutely god awful and I hope they fix this or that we could get a petition going to change the V/Os because this is just unacceptable.

The ONLY good voices in the game are Ser Aymeric, Hauchefaunt and Lucia. Atleast they don't sound like complete Shite (pun intended).

I skip 90% of XIV's cutscenes. They're mostly boring and there's way too many of them.

Every time some body tells me this its like a stab to the heart. Its a Final Fantasy Title... sure FF14 has a few of boring pointless cutscenes but a lot are really well done!

Yeah but the quality of them are way below any other (pre-13) Final Fantasy game so that doesn't really mean anything

I disagree. Hearing that voice come out of little Krile made me wish Lalafells existed in the real world. I'd take her to a movie, maybe dinner, and even BOWLING.

Just kidding, she'd ignore me and get with some bodybuilder or doctor, like women typically do. /foreveralone

That aside, though, really? Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Aymeric and Hauchefaunt and Lucia have that "horrible fake whiney British accent"? Over half the cast has it. What about Brendt and his Slovakian accent? That never rubbed anyone the wrong way?

Funny you should say that. Just today, after actually finishing that quest, I switched to English and re-watched Krile's entry. And ... I wish I hadn't done that. x_x But I was simply curious, just wanted to hear what the English voices are like for a change. It literally made me shiver. For me, it's that what kills immersion, not the Japanese - and I don't speak Japanese. I dunno, I usually don't have any problem with English voices in English games, but here it's just way too weird and foreign to me, not to mention much worse too in my opinion.

Yeah I actually just switched to the Japanese and the V/Os sound really good. Lots of emotion.

Matoyas voice is very fitting. Don't really like Alphi's but Kriles is definitely a lot better. They all have a lot more expression and tones in their voices.

I'm going to just pretend its like back in the day before RPGs and Anime got English dubs *sigh*.

I could tolerate the rest of them before but Krile just killed it. That was the breaking point.
