Considering getting a mouse for PS4 to play LoV

I've heard from PC users that playing LoV with a mouse is much more intuitive. I've played RTS games before (I played the heck out of C&C RA:R back in the day) so I'm no stranger to the idea. I just find playing it with a PS4 controller so unusually awkward that I'm considering swapping in a mouse when I do LoV instead.

Is this do-able on PS4? Is it worth it?

I don't have a PS4, but I googled it and apparently you can. It seems that can connect a wireless blutooth or USB wired keyboard+mouse setup.

As a fellow C&Cer, I highly recommend it for ya!

It is more intuitive but the gamepad is good enough to get through the challenges. You'll have a severe APM disadvantage against real people without M+KB though.

I tried using gamepad and thought it was horrible. Then I tried with a mouse and it was even worse! I feel like mouse mode still uses some sort of gamepad mechanics. It's just weird.

If you have game pad mode enabled the Lord of verminion cursor won't accept input from the mouse. You can still use left click and right click but you can only move the cursor with the analog stick on your controller.

Seems like a bug to me.

I've decided to just avoid LoV. I play on ps4 and I'm not gonna get a mouse just for this. On controller it's absolutely terrible. I'm stuck at challenge 9, the one with the copperbell slime, and I can't get past it. By the time I tab through the screen to select a minion to go to the trap, send it to the boss, and tab again to trigger, either the boss moved away or my arcana is broken or half of my army has been vanquished. I saw a video in the guide by a PC player and my god, no way I can do what she does. Nope. Thank you SE but nope. And seeing how the tournament even plays out there's no incentive to get higher rank other than the reward minions, and like this I'm not gonna get them anyways. This is not fun at all.

I don't know about consoles but I play FFXIV on PC in gamepad mode. There is an option in mouse settings to use mouse-cursor POV for targetting instead gamepad targetting.

I will post it later when I get home. It helps to disable direct chat for keyboard as well for LoV.
