They're from the status effects when you're afflicted with them instead of using them.
Though, I suspect one is backwards. The descriptions of Bio and Miasma II match, ditto Miasma and Bio II.

Ah, ok. I don't think I've ever actually looked at the description of the status itself.

I define a spell as something that needs MP to use, the cast bar is irrelevant to that denifiting as Scathe and Arero have mo cast bar and certain weaponskill gain a cast bar in certain circumstances
Speaking of whuch I define weapon skills as skills requiring TP, both must also be on he Global Cooldown to count as their respective catogories.

Agreed. That would be like saying that Ruin II isn't a spell simply because it's an instant cast. It costs mana, and is therefor a spell.I define a spell as something that needs MP to use, the cast bar is irrelevant to that denifiting as Scathe and Arero have mo cast bar and certain weaponskill gain a cast bar in certain circumstances

I haven't quite finished the SCH jobquest, but from what I learned so far, the war back then between the 3 big cities of magic was partially waged by inflicting each other with curses and illnesses, and that's pretty much also what made Nym fall in the end.the spells you're mentioning aren't summoner-based, they're arcanist-based. These are the spells taught to present-day Lominsan arcanists based on what manuals survive from past users of arcanima-like magicks (especially from Nym and the isles of the south) and the zeitgeist of contemporary research.
So I think it's safe to assume that this kind of warfare was just the norm back then and it transfered over into today's arcanist's knowledge base.

I was thinking of casting auras to define what "element" the spell is. Clemency uses the rainbow "unaspected" aura, cure uses the "wind" aura, etc. Wasn't trying to imply that they aren't actually spells.I define a spell as something that needs MP to use, the cast bar is irrelevant to that denifiting as Scathe and Arero have mo cast bar and certain weaponskill gain a cast bar in certain circumstances

Mostly because that's what were were talking about previously.
