Will Lightning Strike Thrice?

There are plenty of months in the year that have no "special events" occurring. It would be fun if they would just switch on a past event for random weekends. Dragon quest weekend, FFXIII weekend, FFXI weekend, etc. Put them on a rotating schedule, and add a new event occasionally. The current Rhapsody fates are pretty good, as were the dragon quest, Shantotto, and Lightning fates. I wouldn't mind doing them again if I was in the area leveling a character, and mixing up the fates in a zone (as long as it doesn't affect quests and relic farming) is always welcome.

And for anyone who wants NEW events... it doesn't have to be one or the other. All the old promotional events are already in the game. There is absolutely no reason they couldn't flip on the lightning event as soon as the Rhapsody event ends.

I would be ok with that idea personally..at least with lightning returns going onto PC soon...only seems appropriate that they bring the event back one more time..Ps anyone know if say you get the lightning stuff on a female character and then switch to Male would it become the snow set?

I believe it stays Lightning, but the calamity vendor will exchange gendered outfits for the opposite. This includes Wedding attire, Swimsuits, and the XIII gear.

I've always played as a female on my main, but a friend of mine who has gender swapped has been able to use both lightning and snow on the same character, so yes, both hairstyles are automatically available to you regardless of gender. The contest winner styles in the gold saucer seem to be set up to do the same thing.

The standard for event sets has been $4-5, so I don't expect them to suddenly start charging 3x the regular amount. But who knows, they get more money hungry by every patch.
