You guys with slow framerate ever tried lowering your resolution? If your not tied down needing to have windowed mode(which is kinda hard to expect sense full screen is not alt-tab friendly) I would recommend full screen and lowering the resolution. It will improve fps the lower you go. Indeed gfx will look a little less great... Also adjusting settings for like shadows and such to there lowest setting couldn't hurt. My secondary comp has a 5770 single juniper, 4GB ram(3.2 cause of XP) and a intel core two duo 2.4GHz. And it has issues running at too high res. Stutters alot and likes to freeze randomly. But lower res at full screen is fine.

It just occurred to me, is this not as wide spread as i believe it is? I mean I figured there would be hundreds of people posting about having issues with this.
If you got friends having issues have them post or something..

I spent a LOT of time on newegg of course. If you wanna drop some numbers for budget and size of your Case, some of us may have some ideas for you.

I'll check now since work is slow and throw a few things your way to try out. I have a LOT more then this though for cooling too. No H2O but I spent about another 100 or so for cooling to keep CPU and GPU cool. Glad I did with all the horror stories I hear on here.

Here is a reply to another user who was paranoid about their issues. It shows the cooling I have and case spec.
I have an ANTEC case about 2 feet tall and covered on all sides by airvents and fans, I even have one fan on top, its fricken huge

Well compared to that computer, my primary is a AMD phenom II 3.2GHz(or was it 3.4..) quad core, with 2x of the same gxf 5770 junipers set to crossfire, 8GB ram. If its true this game doesnt support crossfire, then just say one of those gfx. My secondary comp does take about double the time to load npcs. As far as connection, they share the same, over a switch in my room, that then goes to a router, which then goes to a modem lol.

Oh yea, I am gonna be drawing up a contract with Santy Clause, selling him some of my old computer parts that i had swapped out of last year, in order to fund a processor to run this beastly game. So people I guess its down to this question, I need a damn good processor and motherboard to help me run this game, the Video card is obviously not the issue.

Lets say i have a 500 dollar budget, start firing those suggestions.

I have a similar issue since 1.19. I have an Intel i7 3.05 ghz running on a gigabyte X58a-UD3r, OCZ SSD 60gb HD, Windows 7, with 12gb Corsair Vengeance RAM and Geforce GTX 580 with 3gb gpu RAM. Motorola DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem running consistent 20Mbps.

I tried running at the lowest possible graphice settings in FFXIV config.

It's not a PC performance issue.

Still R0 and lag like crazy in XP parties. It's so bad that it's not worth it to even try levelling DoW jobs.

There are multiple threads on this issue:

Ummm no offense Zoltan but, this isn't the same thing. He's losing FPS not Send and Receive issues.

Anyway, Myrahi Rounfa, check what Zoltan posted and choose for yourself. I have nothing to gain from convincing anyone what is or is not wrong with their PC I can only go by what I experience and the word of mouth over TeamSpeak to decide what is and isn't correct.

NOTE PLEASE. IF you USE A GTX 460 on a CORE 2/Phenom/Athlon system the card WILL BE BOTTLENECKED.

MY performance since 1.19 has actually gotten BETTER it seems like. I get 0 stuttering and nothing but smooth smooth framerates on my GTX460 @1080p on everything but GDQuality @ Max.

And to those who say it doesn't support SLI/Crossfire IT DOES.

I do get the occasional D/c though lately.
