    Relinquishing Personal Estate

Has anyone been brave enough to attempt to do it them self instead of wait? If so, what happened??

Yes. I gave up my medium house for someone. I'll be buying a mansion, assuming a few are demolished in 45 days. It's the same as it was before the patch. You lose all the gil you put into it.

Well i had to, due sever moving. Was so painfull left my lovely small and perfect beach house go away but well was needed to move away, also i didnt try to sell anything bcos its now in a gray area with gms so better stay safe, also isnt that i would need my invested gil so much and also cannot be transfered big ammount of coins. Also had my fellow retainers following me with their sacks full of worthy items already.

So first had to remove all items before can demolish, then had to remove the building (demolishing) and then relinquish.

At least someone was very happy

IF you come back online within (I think) 30 days of your house being foreclosed on, you get something like 75% of your housing cost returned to you. I think that's a limited time offer, but I can't find anything on how long the offer's good for. You will also get a certain portion of your value of your furnishings returned. Talk to the housing guy in the tracts for more details.
