    So how about that weather?

This has something that has bothered me since 3.0 release and I found is even more annoying in Diadem. You (SE) made these MASSIVE and rather well designed zones that can look great... IF you can see them. Some zones like Hinterlands are not to bad, but go to Coerthas and its almost constantly snowing or something blocking any sense of a view. I'm not sure you have the weather set this way for 'maximum realism' or something but I don't care for it.

Is it possible for you to bring a graphics settings to disable weather? It was present in XI (inb4 this isn't XI spam) and I found it a rather nice feature in several zones.

Bonus points if you can also remove the 'air stream' effect your mount create while flying. Blocks my view also.

Even with objects and details set to max the open world like sea of clouds looks pretty bad from high up. Because you can see everything... In low detail.

The 2 times I was in diadem there were clear skies most if not all the time.

Coerthas had its weather messed up by the Calamity, so it's gonna be snowing 95% of the time.

This is kinda like asking why we dont have a setting that adds snow in gridania.

These zones simple have certain weather types either due to lore or due to them beeing in a certain location on the ARR planet.

Some people play for the realism or for the immersion. Others play for grinding gear and gil making. Some people read cutscenes, others skip them all. Not everyone plays the game for the same reason, and I'll be honest. The story is not exactly what draws me to the game.

Its not about looking at the map for where people are, its about seeing the world around me.

Not asking to create weather in towns, just eliminate it. This could also prove useful to people playing on lower end systems and even ps3 users as I'm willing to bet clears skies cause the least amount of system lag.

They should have this setting, but I think the main reason they do not is visibility. Everyone has equal visibility in most cases. If you were able to turn weather effects off, there is a chance you would have an advantage over spotting/claiming a mob faster than the player that has weather effects on. The same reason why the game does not have any draw distance effects with sliders. i.e.: seeing nameplates further away, turning off shadows, etc.

BUT I would argue that since this game doesn't really have any competitive elements except in PVP arenas, just have the weather toggle available in all zones EXCEPT Frontlines.

Dear forum admin people - I do not understand why this thread was moved from general to the exploratory mission section. The intent of this thread was adding a feature in regards to the weather in all the zones. While 3.0 are a bit more the focus, I do not feel it was localized to just the Diadem zone enough to warrant this thread location. Your logic confuses me. Please explain.

While in other games I could see your debate in regards to locating mobs, I can not in this game. While it could help someone in Diadem or someone doing hunts spot the mob sooner, most of those mobs are shouted/relayed to other people to gather at. If anything, I feel it would help progress overall kill speed as people locate them faster. But i do question how much of an effect it would have. Specially since most videos I watch of people doing dungeons, they play with ALL effects on. I find it extremely overwhelming and takes away from the ability to watch the fight. But that's just me I guess.
