must be because we are playing the class and we see the limits of ours job.
I was a PLD in 2.0 got all 3 tanks to 60 played with them on end game, when it was open and reach A3S I complain because I knew, experienced, and tested all 3classes and I can se how each class truly is and work.
your friends can stay on sword oath and do everything fine without shield? sure let me laugh at you when we didn't had the gear we have now, I want to see them trying that the first few weeks of Alexander Savage, PLD could literally not hold hate stand dacing in order for us to work with sword oath we needed, fully pentameld acc, pots, extra eso gear and a ninja to work that around. "just to do a decent damage" that WAR and DRK could literally do with much less effort.
there's no point on you to come here and say your friends have no problem now because they are fully geared with 210 pieces galore in the game and perfectly fully eso set, the problems with paladins are noticeable in end game, on the current highest difficulty, witch by now it's 5 month old, by this time everyone should already have no problem with any class in any content besides completely managing the mechanics...

Hey I never said that he could do sword oath in Alex savage that isn't possible lol but your right im not gonna disagree with you I did a lot of tanking in coil with my war more than pal so I completely agree. But when some one like me who mained Drg for pretty much the start of 2.0 up until 3.0 now I main drk I think we drg have been more crapped on. so don't take offense I wasn't trying to be rude sorry. I just hate seeing them complain constantly is all ^^.

Right now there are legitimate problems with the class as compared to the other two tanks. WARs have absolutely nothing to complain about and DRKs have some minor issues at worst. Most of the complaints about PLD are quite justified.
I could have the same instant queues on WAR or DRK without the issues, so that's a very silly argument to make.
It doesn't look like you do endgame at all, so I suppose you can hardly be blamed for not knowing that currently, PLD is the last choice for a tank in endgame content. In any other content, the party composition really doesn't matter so nobody cares.
Is this supposed to make us feel better or something? What does it matter if dragoon was "crapped on" in the past? It's not even tangential to the discussion, and it's a fallacious argument to boot. Just because a class was underpowered in the past doesn't mean it should be overpowered now. Of course, the reverse applies; if a class was overpowered (or at least overly desired) in the past, is that really a good reason why it should fall behind now? The fact of the matter is that WAR is pretty much guaranteed a slot in raids, so PLD/DRK get to duke it out for the other slot and as things stand now it's really no contest if you have a choice between the two.

While i can understand it's typical of most people on this forum... but why quote players and comment just because they enjoy playing as PLD?
Different tastes for different people. Myself i liked playing PLD up until HW (still do go as PLD at times) and gave DK a try and never bothered leveling Maurader to unlock Warrior (until recently) as i kind of find Warrior just not my taste. There is no arguements there that PLD needs changes and some of you have actually made good suggestions. Much room could be left for improvement and i would also hope more is done with the shield.
It is even more sad that i am sure my level 54 DK can do more damage then my level 60 PLD, well just seems like it any how.
Heck before HW came out and they showed the new abilities in a video my thought was, wow PLD basically got nothing.
Also as a sidenote had dragoon not surpassed Monk even at the end of 2.x in terms of dps? I know coil numbers have proved so. Unless your talking about the typical loldrg sort of talk?

As I recall, dragoon pulled ahead with its final round of buffs after it got destroyed on Bahamut for a week or two because of low mdef. Early Bahamut was really the only time it felt like a detriment to bring a drg though, especially with how strong bard was for a while.
