Always glamour something that doesn't hide my fluffy ears.
Ear socks look worse on elezen, they're huge, regardless of actual ear size or shape and some of those ear socks look to be in the wrong spot.

I photo edited some hats to show how they would look if there were ears instead of the pouches.
While not all of them work out, I think some do look better, for example the witch hat, it would be illogical having the ears come out through the purple/blue band on the hat, so why not just hide the ears inside? the hat is pretty gigantic (for reals, it is big!) enough to hide ears in it. the nightcap could also hide the ears in it, again, it is a pretty big hat, some other hats do hide ears, like most of then 3.0 crafter gear.
I also agree that helms, probably most metal made helm could keep their ear (ouch) just because we are speaking of a solid metal piece that is meant to protect the ears, also, most metal helms ears look pretty good and do not mess up the hat shape at all.
But deciding which hat should have ear sockets, which keeps their "pouch" and which can hide ears, is something the team needs to decide themselves, I do understand the extra work it would be, but I also that it would simplify some hats models a lot because they won't have to think of a matching/logical pouch shape/size/color for every hat they make.
Anyway! thank you for reading, I am happy to see that many other miqo'te, elezens and probably even some lalafels, agree that not every hat needs to have their ears hidden in cloth/leather/metal.
Take care!
