Heavensward XP Bonus?

A friend told me that if we created characters together because he has Heavensward and I dont, that he gets an XP buff. Is that true? Do Heavensward owners get any sort of XP buff? I just wanted to check . Thanks!

Nope. But he will be able to gain experience after level 50 up until level 60. Whereas your cap will be 50 until you purchase HW

If you trade a friend code prior to paying for your first sub, you both get a circlet that gives you 25% bonus exp at low levels perhaps that is what he was thinking of?
