About the Warrior of Darkness.. theories? (spoiler-ish??)

Isn't our opening cutscene Warrior a Dragoon now? It makes me think the Warrior of Darkness is a different copy, either a created clone or from an alternate timeline, and that our "good" War is still out and about.

I think there is a discrepancy between the two versions. Right now there are 5 individuals:

• Highlander Hyur: Male, initially Warrior, but switched to Dragoon
• Plainsfolk Lalafell: Female, White Mage, generally adorable
• Sea Wolf Roegadyn: Male, Paladin, and his counterpart's psycho expression forever set the Warriors of Darkness' morality in doubt
• Wildwood Elezin: Unknown gender, assumed to be female (Note that the is also a Male Elezen in 1.0's advertising before Awnswers). Black Mage
• Seeker of the Sun(?) Miquo'te: Female, Bard, notably the only one who is with the Highlander before Answers

However there are two different versions of these 5 adventurers. The Warriors of Darkness, and characters used to symbolize us, the players. Of the 5 in the latter category, only the Highlander is seen everywhere form the start, with the Miquo'te appearing with from the beginning to Answers, and the Lala, Roe and Elezen only appearing there. As our proxies whether they're canon or not is ambiguous.


Their counterparts, the Warriors of Darkness, however are canon, the issue being who these doppelgangers are relative to the proxies, they could be one and the same (or 5 and the same, rather) but that is hard to reconcile with the Proxy highlander being a Dragoon as well as their black clothing and weapons. This is why the alternate universe and time travel theories are circulating in this thread, because we know nothing about this group and we have no indication on if the proxy group is canon other than as the ebon-clad Warriors of Darkness


tl;dr for all we know the versions of the Highlander representing us doesn't exist in canon, or at least instead of becoming a Dragoon, he became a Warrior of Darkness
