People complain about the change between 2.0 and 3.0, it was the change between 1.0 and 2.0 that really bothered me. Admittedly I dont remember much of it, but Yda's voice....ugh! Everytime she spoke in 2.0 I just cringed and muted it and read the words in her 1.0 voice. I won't say it was bad, just drastically different to what I was remembering of Yda

It just completely changed her personality. On top of that, 1.0 seemed to have actual lip syncing. As for 2.0 to 3.0...felt like to me all the better sounding voice actors got made worse, while all the ones that really needed a new one got way better. The only 3.0 voice that really bothers me is Yugiri's one. Her old one was great
I have heard some of the 1.0 voices though I started with 2.0... I did not like Yda's and Papalymo's voices in 1.0. It felt way and out of place somehow though I did like Yda antics in some of the earlier cutscenes with her. I do like Y'shtola's voice from 1.0 and 2.0 (I think 3.0 is the same VA unless I'm mistaken).
Overall I prefer the 2.0 voices over the 1.0 and 3.0 voices the most.

It's not the same VA I believe. However it is the same VA who voiced Sera from dragon age inquisition, which made me laugh when I realised, those two characters are nothing alike.

I approve of hiring actual British actors, given that pretty much all the actors who got replaced (the exception being the glorious Gideon Emery, who shouldn't have gone) couldn't pull off the generic "Brit" accent that the localisation team decided upon for the cast. Alphinaud now sounds like an actual teen boy, and speaks much more naturally because his new actor doesn't have to focus on putting on an accent.
I love that all the Ala Mhigans are from Yorkshire now. Gives them a sense of identity.

I like them now. I disliked them pre-HW.
Also how do you know their accents are fake? Legit question. I'm curious to know if they're fake. The thought never crossed my mind till I read your thread. o.o
I've heard many different British dialects and never heard any that sound like this. They sound like kids in my middle school pretending to make English accents back in the day.
I don't know if they're fake but when I think of annoying, whiney, fake TIP TOP CHEERIO kind of British accents, this is what I imagine in my head.
I also took the time to try to find if there were any English dialects I hadn't heard before. I coudn't find any that sounded like this. Cockney, Irish, Scottish, Manchester, South Whales. Nothing. Kriles voice literally made me take off my headphones because it was such a shock and so awful. At which point I'd had enough and created this thread.
I've even met a lot of English people and they don't talk like this.
As for Alphinaud, I think he didn't sound like a whiney teenager before because... hes sort of ahead of himself in his years. Hes like what? 14? Hes a master tactician and diplomat. He shouldn't sound like a child. Peoples upbringing also influences their voice and the way they talk.
Alexander the great was like what... 14 years old leading a massive military conquest?

I'm British. They sound much better now than they did before, trust me. Minfillia in particular used to make me cringe, her accent was so forced.
Some of them are still iffy, but quite a few of the new cast are actually British iirc so overall authenticity of accents has improved. The delivery overall is a bit more stilted, but I find it often is with British VAs for some reason.

Judging by that site, most people are actually British. In ARR most were American with fake British accents, so I find it hilarious that some people thinks it's the other way around.
