The way to fix this should be to make two seperate queues. One for gatherers and one for combat classes. Allow flying from the very beginning for both groups, disable job changingm and allow stealth to work for gatherers.
Seems to be par for the course with SE.

They should make it that those not in range of the fights don't get the option to roll. Leaching is definitely annoying especially without the option to Need.
Like, with Gathering it's not like everyone in the party has an option to greed on the gathering item that is procured.

Well, I'm just gonna say it, because it seems that People want to criticize SE for not foreseeing something that they themselves clearly missed as well. If you run this content in PUG rather than a FC or LS based pre-made group, then you are explicitly accepting players with different goals from your own. You all want SE to be on the hook for not implementing some kind of countermeasure to leeching, which you say was such an obvious flaw. Except it was clearly not such an obvious flaw to you since you didn't use better precautions about who to take on a mission eh?
If you don't want leeches, do the content with friends, FC mates or LS members you know and trust, otherwise you'll need to be wary of unknown members of the PUG you take a long.
As I said in an earlier reply, I'd rather that SE take the more hopeful and optimistic approach of assuming the best from people, after all, are not people innocent until proven guilty? If they were to expect the worst and treat everyone as suspected cheaters, liars, exploiters and abusers, I sincerely doubt FFXIV would be the game it is, and far fewer of us would be playing it.

Isn't removing a party member for different playstyle a legitimate reason? We should at the very least be given the option to remove them.Well, I'm just gonna say it, because it seems that People want to criticize SE for not foreseeing something that they themselves clearly missed as well. Which is probably at least partly why SE disabled the vote dismiss system for this content. Otherwise, anyone not on a battle class would get kicked.Isn't removing a party member for different playstyle a legitimate reason? We should at the very least be given the option to remove them.

SE won't do that cause you know why? As soon as someone switches to gather they would be kicked, pretty sure SE saw that far ahead which is why it was disabled. Should their be a better system yes, as I said in earlier posts gathers and combat should of never been lumped together to begin with.Isn't removing a party member for different playstyle a legitimate reason? No, as was pointed out in an earlier reply in this thread, SE almost certainly wants to avoid the very clear potential abuse of kicking people into a 2 hour lockout as a griefing tactic. There's isn't a perfect solution to this problem, leeches will always find a way to leech, the more counter measures you implement, the more you impact legitimate players.Isn't removing a party member for different playstyle a legitimate reason? P.S. to avoid Leeches, there is a simple solution, don't take any Scholars along....![]()
