Things you need to know about Diadem (Legit and Leech alike).

*If you enter an encounter and agree upon pre-discussed loot rules (whether in DF or PF) you may liable to "Fruad" if you go against the agreed upon rules.
This is not exclusive to the Diadem. This also covers "Locking" loot, Agreements made upon someone receiving loot for a class they may not roll Need on, such as a DPS/Healer class who is substituting in an encounter as a Tank or any other pre discussed loot distribution agreements.


*If you enter an encounter and refuse to participate either by declaring verbally or non verbally, you may be held liable for "Refusal of Participation".

Both of these are offences against the games ToS and you may receive disciplinary action if a player/s chooses to report you.




How to protect yourself?

If you don't agree to the parties discussed loot distribution rules, than you should make sure to DISAGREE with them. In the event that you AGREE with them, you are bound to comply.

As for Refusal to Participate? If you are unable to participate, simply exit the duty. Life happens, sometimes this may not be an option. It is very easy to determine some one who is AFK Vs. Some one who is leeching. (Some one who is AFK - Away from keyboard; obviously will not be rolling on loot).


Simply stating things such as "Well don't blame me, blame the system" are unacceptable excuses and this behaviour must not be tolerated within the community for the betterment of everyone involved.

I have provided the information above for the community in order to better mediate itself by understanding that these actions are against the Terms of Service and those who participate in "Griefing" "Fraud" and "Harassment" will not be tolerated"



There are a number of possible future solutions which may be implemented to alleviate these problems, however I will not go into discussing those in the main post as this is mostly directed at changing the behaviour of the community by holding members accounable, rather than placing a band-aid fix on a larger issue.

Happens every time with content, they think too highly of their playerbase and never learn that there's always some people out there that's going to ruin it for everyone else. Since there's no fixing people, they should be creating content with that in mind.

They assume we are japanese I suppose? Cus we are no where near as polite as they seem to be. I mean closed beta they actually formed a line as I recall due to only 1 person being able to do the Gridania quest at a time? NA/EU was a scramble "Lol good luck getting in"

Well I can't blame them on having gathering and battle content being in the same instance, how long have people been asking for that now? Still, it turned out to be a horrible idea. There may have been a better way to implement it, but I can't think of any that wouldn't peeve the players who are only interested in battling.

I can see it both ways though, if you're someone who wants to go on the quest to gather should you excluded or made to think you can't go cause your not fighting? Honestly they really should get rid of the whole 4 currents thing at the start and just let you fly from the start and allow you to go in solo if you wanna gather or fish.

Roll wise I guess that's up to the player I mean if I went in to strictly gather I personally wouldn't roll but many probably will. Maybe they could include something in which you actually need to do a little damage before you can roll or be within a certain proximity kind of like fates to get credit on the fight.

I have switched to premades, however I set loot rule normal. WE ALL AGREED to greed anything below i180, but for i210 drops main class can loot need. One person began needing all the healer drops i180 downwards, well at least my blacklist got a something ^^

As long as you're doing premades, yeah, at least the blacklist helps. Also, it's come up before... if you set the loot rules on a premade party, and everyone agrees to those rules (like actual agreement, not just silence), you can call GMs on people that ninja loot.

They might have figured preventing unjust kick into 2 hour lockout took priority over vote kick. Who knows.

Well, they should probably just make Stealth work there at this point... Then just work it so you can queue in as a gathering class... So then you have a party full of people interested in those objectives, rather than lumping gatherers and combat together for no tangible benefit.

Alternatively actually give gatherers a solid party role during the event and knock a DPS off the queue for one... For example, gathering could gradually summon monsters to that location, or have gatherers unearth items which apply a party wide buff. That way you want a gatherer because they're getting you more rare monsters, and buffing everyone. That would effectively be a support slot, come to think of it...
