Yeah I must have spent 2 days trying my damn hardest to resolve this issue. Finally fixed btw the error codes do indicate that something is blocking the patch from downloading. the issue was the ports as you guys mentioned. after much tinkering I still could not get the ports, kinda useless as fiddling with that stuff so I went to next best thing seeing as my internet provider was clueless. Went round to a friends house with different internet provider and bingo it downloaded without any problems. real pain having to take whole computer round but worth it I guess.

Thank you guys for the replies. Lots of people have this damn issue yet no one has give them a proper answer to solve the issue that leaves them as frustrated as I was.

The issue is with your service provider and them blocking or restricting ports, mainly happens with Sky or Virgin internet providers within england. dunno about elsewhere but if you happen to come across this thread with the same problem as me then maybe this will help you.
