New Player - Need Help Leveling

I'm pretty new to the game. I just got my first class to 30 and unlocked Ninja as my first job. I decided to take a break from Ninja for a bit to level Arcanist today and got him to 16 before I had to stop.

But now that I've hit 30, I imagine leveling starts slowing down. So what are some of the things I can do to make leveling go a little faster or make it a little easier on myself? There don't seem to be many Fate parties in the lower zones on my server. Is this true for all servers? I wish there were some parties because I know Fates make things go a lot faster, but I haven't been able to get into a single party yet.

Dungeons, FATES, Levequests, Guildhests, Hunting Log. I think with the release of 3.1 alot of people are doing that content, but after a week or so it'll wind back down and people may go back to leveling alts. So you may see an increase in FATE activity.

Dungeons will give the most exp, but based on times in que and completion, FATES, even solo may be a better option. Guildhests aren't so bad for exp either, though again que times can be a bit much. Levequests for battle classes are a bit tedious, but its something. Then the hunting log will only go so far but its extra exp, so why not.

There is the challenge log too, and beast tribe dailies, oh and sight seeing that gives exp.

Yeah, I think that's why I started leveling Arcanist. I want to be able to get Scholar and Summoner. Mostly Scholar though because I want to get quicker dungeon queues (that and I've never played a healer and may find it interesting here). So I guess just keep doing more of the same thing I've been doing lol.

Also, not to mention that WHM and SCH both take the same classes to level. If I get both to 30, I can have WHM and SCH

Got any recommendations on Fate locations at level 30? I'll give them a look.

Also, side note...when I played on Leviathan a long long time ago, I swear that once I hit 30, I got to look like the BLM with the look at least. Is that not possible anymore, or am I imagining that that happened?

Costa Del Sol was a popular level 30 FATE area, atleast in my server.

That's what I was told. Wasn't sure if there were any others. It was pretty dead when I went to look. It sucks being an American on an EU server. I feel they can smell it on me and just don't invite me lol :P

Dungeons are still the fastest leveling. And be sure to have your top job keep up with the story quests so you unlock everything. Main or highest level job: alternate between dungeon runs and questing. Alt classes/jobs: alternate between dungeon runs and FATEs, leves, hunting log, etc. The Challenge Log can point you in the direction of lots of things you can be doing and give you a bit of bonus XP itself on top of that.

And you can run FATEs even if there aren't any groups doing so (though it's true a group would make it faster). Since you've hit 30, have you done the My Feisty Little Chocobo quest that lets you have your chocobo fight along with you? That can help make more FATEs soloable if you're having trouble finding groups for them.

The level 32 dungeon drops the Battlemage Set, useful for all DoM jobs but stylistically looking like BLM. Maybe that's what you're remembering.

I'll have to give dungeon runs and questing a try on my main. Thanks for the tip! For the alt, I've pretty much been doing just that. I just hit 15 though so I didn't get to do the first dungeon yet, but I will tomorrow for sure. I'll have to complete that Chocobo quest now too since I hit 30. I forgot about that. That will definitely help out a lot. Does the Chocobo do decent damage?

If you don't see any FATE parties, feel free to make one. Sometimes people are out there waiting on someone else to start a party. I had one fill up in ~10 minutes once and I thought the zone was dead for the night.
