Unable to progress in Verminion Challenge

I tried doing the tutorial and I couldn't progress to selecting Gate A. I was instructed to press the R pad to select A above my hotbar. I pressed this button for a solid 5 minutes and could not get to it. I tried select, R1, R2, left, up, right, down, and nothing. I had to sit for 8 minutes waiting for the challenge to end because I couldn't withdraw. I spent 100 MGP to sit in a log spam for 10 minutes.

It actually says to press in the Right Analog stick.

So hit R3

I was confused by this, they wanted you to press the right analog stick down then it works.

R3 is what I mean by Rpad. Yes I did it, did not work. Did it for 5 minutes.

Maybe your controller is broken or something then, I had no issue passing that part

Wait till you get to challenge 21...has anyone got advice for that? It's a nightmare.
