NORMALLY I would agree that this kind of error is a hardware issue, however.....

FFxiv is has this realllly annoying issue with triggering a whea error, list of games that dont running at max settings (shortlist):

Crysis 2 and 3 (3 online, though its been about a month)
Edlerscrolls/skyrim
Borderlands (2) (pre sequel) (online)
Mass Effect 1 2 3 (online for 3) (down sampled and forced downsample)
X Rebirth (forced down-sample)
X3 (all)
Star Trek Online (down sampled)
Spore
Supreme Commander (all)
Eve online
Homeworld remastered collection (with mods) (forced downsampled)

To the execption of spore and sto, the rest are far more taxing to the system and have NEVER NOT ONCE caused any issue. With such, diversity of games that are more taxing and I am lead to wonder about FFxiv. I also have not downsampled the game.

Thoughs who are not familiar with downsampling, it is when you take a larger display setting and fit it into a smaller setting. While now and days offers little reward vs cost however i have found it useful for certain games, expecally when the AA for the game is set to only go so hi, its a good way to squeeze just a tad bit more sharpness out.

If there was a hardware issue I guarantee that crysis 3 would have exposed it. As crysis 3 all around is all-a-round more taxing to run and pushes my system towards the limit.
