Verminion Penalty for Tutorial ?

Thank you! I was just about to make a post about this. I keep getting kicked out of the tutorial because either I took too long to do an action or the timer went out and I lost?

Why are they treating the tutorial, which is supposed to teach you the rules of the game(mind you not everyone learns quickly), like the real game, and they make you pay MGP and give you a time limit just to learn it?


Is there something I missed?

Yeah I went and tried the first tutorial and it was a TUTORIAL so why is it charging me 100MGP, only for me to fail because I ran out of time due to bad directions for controller use. I also got a phone call in the middle which used up some of my time but I didn't think a tutorial would fail just cause I waited too long, its supposed to just be a TUTORIAL SE.

It pretty much ruined any first impressions of this mini game and I'm probably not gonna bother to touch it again.

Won't deny a little snark but it's too often that people go straight to General Discussion with their 'bug reports' and never bother leaving an actual bug report. Like General Discussion is Square's got-to forum for bug reports.

Exactly! I posted a thread about this yesterday thinking it was a bug when it told me I lost just because I was reading the explanations, but then I wasn't sure if it was a bug or intended. Horrible tutorial design. Timers are suppose to stop while you read explanations in tutorials. Seems like lazy design, like they were rushing and decided to just throw explanations over a non-tutorial model.

This sounds terrible! A timer on the tutorial and a mega-long lockout on retreat from an NPC opponent? I read somewhere else it was frustratingly hard. :/

So my main question: is there even a reward worth playing it for, because now I'm not sure I wish to bother. I was really looking forward to it too, but I didn't have time yesterday.

I don't mind the price. The 100 MGP are fast earned again.
But the timer for the Tutorial should be longer to give also the slower readers enough time to read and to understand the tutorial texts.

The first time I tried the tutorial, it wouldn't allow me to do the thing that it was asking me to do and eventually it timed out and I lost my mgp. I got extremely desuaded from it but tried it one more time. The second time it worked but the time limit is so extremely short i didn't have time to actually read ANY of it and learn what to do because I would have been kicked out again and lost even more mgp. Please for the love of the gods remove the time limit on the tutorial!

It doesn't matter. It took me a solid minute or two before I realized that pressing the button to change it doesn't actually work, because it automatically switches it to gate A at that point in the tutorial and won't let you switch away from it. The tutorial is horribly implemented, and it seems to be far worse on PS4/PS3 where control issues also come into play when first getting started. I ran out of time barely into the tutorial, and wouldn't have even known I had missed the rest of it if it hadn't been for a FC member that I was talking to at the time who made it slightly further in than I did.....

I played the Verminion Tutorial and had a few loses. To speed it up I just "Retreated" there was a warning but no timer for how long I would be locked out of the game.

It's been over 2 hours. This penalty is harsher than a leaving a dungeon and I never retreated from an actual PC's. Is this working as intended ?

Similar to the Duty Finder, a penalty system is in place for abandoning Lord of Verminion matches. Taking the following actions several times will restrict players from taking part in matches for a set amount of time.

• Retreating from a match
• Withdrawing from a match, or letting the time run out on the queue window

The reason that the penalty is also in place for matches against the computer, including the tutorial, is because instances are still being utilized for these matches. Removing this restriction may lead to situations where multiple instances are being utilized which in turn may not allow other players to play during peak hours. Therefore, we have placed this lockout penalty as a preventative measure.

That said, we're continuing to gather your thoughts and feedback to share with the dev. team and will let you know if adjustments are made in the future.
