O and it passes the launcher check, but the moment i press play, it starts the load, black screen, then crash, like i said i dont even make it to title screen.

Just to rule it out, make sure you are launching as admin. Either a right-click on the shortcut and selecting Run as Admin, or by opening the properties page and setting the option to always run as admin.

Otherwise, security software may be blocking the executable because it detected a change in the file. Refreshing or removing/creating the exceptions again often resolves that.

As for the forum message, the thread was likely moved to another category and locked from user replies. This happens when the get moved to accepted bugs, insufficient info, etc.

I once it redownloads, i will tempararly disable my av, but I dont see how that would effect it since it wasnt an issue before the patch.

I have been forum hopping on other sites, i seem not to be the only one with this issue, there are some inconsistency with two config files.
FFXIV.cfg and FFXIV_BOOT.cfg

Region 2

I should note I have not touched/edited the values as i dont know what the effects might be.

after two reinstalls/updates via steam it failed both times

third time without steam client, (forgot to disable av), works

Might want to look into that, as i will only temporarly use this game without Steam Client
