Rhalgr take you and your great beyond!

(The 1.0 Gridania opening is immediately what I thought of when Yda mentioned Rhalgr, lol)

Yeah, she seems very focused and serious when she was helping the "masks" more so than I've seen her in ARR.

I think she's Ala Mhigan, as well. It's certainly possible she might be half since Arenvald (in the rwaking sands) is half Ala Mhigan-Garlean and has the echo

This is somehow makes me always "meh" when my character doesn't have any moment but just standing and sheathe weapon to WoD. It's gonna be awesome if our character have battle cutscene too

Our battle cutscenes aren't cutscenes, it's when we participate ourselves. So, we had our "cutscene" in the last quest instance.

But to be honest, the real reason is because there are so many jobs that they'd have to render the scenes differently if we wanted an actual fight and not something like using a generic Blade of Light. A Scholar bopping a dragon over the head with a book and parrying with it a moment later, then forcing him into submission would be amusing, but not realistically viable.

Edit: I agree with Fenral as well. I don't think a total decisive victory for light is best for anyone. Duality tends to be a major theme in Final Fantasy and you can't have duality with only one side.

The "classic" Final Fantasy ending is never a total victory. Yes, you defeated this world destroying evil, but evil itself is an eternal part of humanity, no different from love, or hope. It's not a condemnation of human weakness, just a more philosophical approach to the "happily ever after" endings that were typical of the genre before those crazy mavericks over at Square decided to show that a game's story could be more than just the "hero defeats the dark lord" routine that made Dragon Quest so popular. There's no "ever," just a "happily after."

It also showed 'evil' is more complex than just 'a dark lord who only seeks to bring evil to the world' or something like that. There's always a reason, cause, misguided belief or in some cases a justifiable goal.

As for the hint about garlean attack at the end, I'm guessing we'll get rid of the ones at northern thanalan. Although I'm curious as to how the imperials would take this, To my knowledge the remaining 14th legionaries at NT and Mor Dhona (any eorzean castrum bascially) are pretty much exiles from garlemald anyway.

People, people, you need to understand about the warriors of *darkness*

The warrior's of darkness were the people in the trailer of 1.0, and yes they were all the same people, The Miqo'te was the one wanting to get gil at any cost at the table(which became the bard), the Lala white mage was the derplander future companion seen in the echo, the Elezen was the one at the table arguing with the miqo'te that becomes the black mage, and the Roegadyn marauder that the derplander saw with the echo as a future companion as well that laters down the road becomes a paladin. Don't know what happened to the Elezen gladiator girl in the echo(may have died). AT the trailer intro of 2.0 A realm reborn, you see them all fighting in the field but remember, doing that time(of the whole 1.0) there were "MORE" then one warrior of light and only VERY few that were "champions" that get the full power of hydaelyn which was just told to us by Krile. The player didn't go the same route as the derplander went in 1.0 so its understandable that nobody knew who they were.

This shows that the "Darklander" and his crew were another band of light warriors gone dark doing the new realm reborn eorzea time, they could have been fighting them long before our time raise in power cause it was also told that the ascians were stirring trouble AFTER the calamity. Remember, in the video the 5 got ported out of the battle, not just them but many others by louisoix in the battle he could save but they all did not land at the same time frame, many of them landed years/months apart from one other. The Darklander crew just happen to land together and ride off into the sunset looking for new advanture way before us(the 1.0 players) got ported in.

You guys ready to have your mind blown?

    ARE YOU READY?

IF you were a 1.0 player, you were *ALONE* and walked to your *city* you listed and were on your road to become the next "champion" of the light.

If you were a new player, aka the 2.0 player, you are not a vet from the battle, instead you are some nobody on his road to glory/fame or whatever you chosen only to later down the road to become the next champion of light and having no idea you had these powers "the echo" and so on in the story and was told this.

Everything makes sense once you start doing this.

In case someone says "Well the scions don't know who you were if you were blah blah blah after helping them in 1.0" that my friend is a plothole because something they didn't have time to add in due to time.

So yes, the Midlander male, Miqo’te female, Roegadyn male, Elezen female, and Lalafell female in the recent trailers are in fact the same ones that appeared in the 1.0 trailer! (Yes, the black mage is the Elezen female from the morbol party, not the snooty male from the Midlander’s party. The robe & hat conceal some of her more distinguishing features, and we all know there was no bust size adjustment feature back in 1.0).

now on to my thoughts of the msq... yes it was very short in my humble opinion... but then again with all the people complaining from 3.0's launch who never played before 3.0 came out about the main story quests... I can see why they made them shorter... now some are complaining they were too short... (poor se they're damned if they do and damned if they don't) I really liked how they made Thancred tolerable, hotter and with a better va in my opinion. Honestly I doubt minfillia is dead seeing as the Mor Dhona Kids say they were being run ragged by a woman named Ascillia unless it's them trying to throw us off her scent. I felt bad for dude when his father called Aymeric his son (i really need to remember people's names in this game.) I just can't wait for more of the story to unfold... I had a friend upset that there wasn't anymore Hildebrand quests...
