    I think FFXIII battle ATB was much quicker than FFXIV. I don't know how did you say that it is slower. I was playing it on JP ver, was there any different to your version? I remember they even allow "auto command" because it was too quick to select all default within time.

    I think that copy FFXIII battle system is very good idea, but they need to remove "auto command" out, because we don't want all players to rely on auto mode. ^^;

    With XIII you had to navigate the menus to select commands, with XIV you have a skill bar. It's much faster with a skill bar. Not to mention you had to hit a separate button just to execute an action before the bar was filled. There was a lot more waiting around in XIII than there is in XIV.

    I was hoping 14 would be exactly like 13 but online and with much more chars and classes. If they made 14 just like 13 with the weapon upgrades, the equip, odins, everything... That would be an awesome game. The amount of weapons gear possibilities the story behind it, was just awesome. I thought 13 was great and enjoy playing it.

    What about the 25-30 min boss fights in 13 as well... With just 3 people none the less, it required great strategy. You had to have the right paradigm shift on and if you didn't it was like insta death, and you have to time big hits and have the right people in.... The game I felt was well done.

    We also don't have the ability to switch classes mid-battle so that has absolutely no bearing on FFXIV. I felt it was a little strange that different people in the same role had different skills by default.

    Honestly I'd rather not have to navigate menus to use skills though, I'm happy with the skill bar/stamina setup we have now. It's really honestly no different from XIII's system except it's easier to execute a single action and we can't stack 3+ actions at a time.

    XIII would have unarguably the best combat if the game didn't basically play the game for you. It has features that make it much better than anything before it and features that make it inferior.

    This game would benefit from the same kind of action stacking, but it can not be a simple 1:1 convertion. The main reason why it worked in XIII is because the game is so snappy and responsive. They need to be able to achieve nearly same level of responsion here. That is a no-brainer regardless of what they actually end up doing with the combat system.

    If I have to wait a second between pressing the button and the skill actually showing up in the stack screen, the sluggishness will ruin whatever benefits that system has. It should be 200-250 milliseconds at worst.

    Indeed. If it didn't have the autoplay feature with it it would be perfect.

    And uhh, this is exactly what this thread proposes to be implemented from the game? Nobody is saying we should navigate menus or take the whole battle system >_>; (although I liked how nukers were used in that game too).
