They NEED feedback from players.
People need to complain and point out what's wrong.

Of course there will be trolls and whinners, but just because someone is complaining, it doesn't mean they're wrong.
The Dev Team should be capable of recognizing who's a troll and who's not.

I'm pretty sure that most people in here are actually playing the game, and most of them give positive feedback to try and improve the game.

Dear Developers,

Whenever patch notes are added the most striking thing I notice is the majority of modifications come off the back of topics posted on these forums. Unfortunately the greater majority of people who use these forums are those looking for somewhere to whine, troll, flame and insult people, rather than spending their time actually playing the game.

There are many people playing and enjoying the game, whilst adapting to the many updates being made. Nobody can deny the game is heading in a positive direction with much more enjoyable content now than there's ever been and plenty for veteran, novice, hardcore and laid back players to get stuck into.

These players don't come on the forums and whine. They play the game and enjoy it.

Thread after thread is being made by people who complain about what they don't like about the game, scarcely in a constructive or helpful manner. They use these forums as a means to whine about every minor detail that doesn't meet their expectations.

Nobody is denying they have the right to express their opinions.

However, when most of the modifications in patches come as a result of these threads, I worry for the future of this game. As a regular player of this game who is enjoying the many changes you are making, I strongly urge you to stop caving in to the pressure of the vocal, rude and ignorant minority and start trusting in your ability as developers. The players who don't spend all their time browsing these forums complaining about every little detail are playing the game and enjoying it.

Look at how many people are playing this game and look at how many of them frequent the forums. Numbers speak for themselves; they are just too busy playing the game and enjoying it to spend their time whining.

Please, developers. Stop caving in to the whiners and stick to your insticts. Everytime you update content you're caving in to the people who spend their time patrolling these forums for the latest victim to troll and insult. These people are not willing to adapt to or enjoy the game, and insist on seeing the absolute worst in everything you do.

These are not the players you want to please. The ones who play the game and enjoy the game are the ones you want to cater to, because it's those players who have, are and will stick by you whilst you slowly turn this game into the perfection we know you're capable of.

Fourteen is a beautiful game right now with plenty to do and plenty to enjoy. It is and will only get better. Please stop listening to the vocal minority before it's too late and you start undoing the wonderful work of the past six to eight months.

From a personnal standpoint I must disagree with your post. I enjoy playing this game. I spend many hours playing. I have loved watching it progress from the trainwreck that it was at release to where it is now. I am looking forward to more improvements. Still , when I see what I preceive to be a problem I will not hesitate to air it on these forums in the hopes that more improvements can be made. I usually try to make constructive recommendations for fixes. I do not consider this to be whining or baseless complaining.

Lowered the price of starting gear from vendors. How dare they.
More sheep spawns. How dare they.
Action bars saving when switching classes. How dare they.
Another quest & Beastman Stronghold. How dare they.
Bug fixes. How dare they.

Yes, please developers. Stop asking for feedback & making improvement to a game that written of as dead months ago.

The developers aren't perfect, and no game is, but when things are the way they are in a game you have to adapt. The system of completely open feedback has spoiled some people into thinking if they complain enough about something that they don't like, they can have it changed. You have to also consider that they are taking feedback from the other language forums aswell.

I completely agree with the OP, we really should trust more in the developers' decisions. If by chance they bring out something that a percentage of the community doesn't like, they should just deal with it and move on. I myself don't complain about parts of the game that don't suit me, I just accept it as the way it has to be played, I think others need to do the same.

I agree with these parts of the OP...but I'm pretty sure that it is because of these forums that XIV is where it is now and why it will only get better.

Have faith that Yoshi & the Devs are smart enough to ignore Rage/Troll posts that get maybe 5 Likes or that they see the vast majority disagree with those posts. They have stated many times that they read every post (God help the Reps!) so I'm pretty sure that they get a good feeling for what peeps want vs what they can do and more importantly what they want to do.

I apologise to anyone who incorrectly feels insulted by this thread. The few it is aimed at are fully aware who they are and I'm aware that many people post constructive, well thought out suggestions. Unfortunately the threads that I have recently been tracking have degraded into a cesspit of trolling and moaning with scarcely a useful word to be seen and within an alarmingly low amount of posts.

It seems genuine conversation is frowned upon and then subsequently pounced upon by those the thread was referring to. Please do not assume I posted this just to look for an argument. It certainly was not the case.

So you think the devs can't sift through the information and make their own decisions not only based on the forums but the general in-game attitude. Many topics brought up in the forums are far from having the "Vocal minority" on their side, almost any player you ask period would probably say.

"Yeah I do think thats an issue"

UI, Maps, Lack of mid-endgame content, crafting, leveling, powerleveling, gathering, battle system, all of these "Points" the "Vocal minority" are bringing up are valid points that almost anyone could get behind.

Your being naive to think these aren't issues that need adressing, I personally feel for the people who don't stand up and voice their opinion on how they want the game to develope. There should be thousands of people using the forums to make sure the dev team hears loud and clear what they want.

Standing around with your hands in your pockets waiting for the devs to do something is the worst thing you could do. I and many others will continue to plead our cases to the devs and if they happen to think it's a good worthwhile idea I'm sure they are responsible enough to make their own choices about our suggestions.

Indeed, I am in full agreement with you. It's about how this plea is expressed, really. Sorry for any misunderstanding.
