...like... the OP?Unfortunately the greater majority of people who use these forums are those looking for somewhere to whine, troll, flame and insult people, rather than spending their time actually playing the game.

Unfortunately you are in a "Catch-22" because you have to use the same forums to make your request known.Everytime you update content you're caving in to the people who spend their time patrolling these forums for the latest victim to troll and insult. These people are not willing to adapt to or enjoy the game, and insist on seeing the absolute worst in everything you do.
(Still, I agree with you)
Also not everyone is great at authoring a suggestion.
Many of the people that whine and complain, have valid points. Perhaps they are too busy playing to take the time out and scribe a newspaper-grade column to get their opinion/obervations heard.
Yeah and the crap you posted in there wasn't saying "I'm glad you corrected yourself" or anything in that manner. Instead, like 50% of the forum users have to post something irrelevant and try to be witty to get a couple of likes. Your just dragging the situation longer than it needs to be and causing more drama on these forums.I can appreciate your how your trying to agree with the OP. But after this
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...veling-in-1.19
And the thread it referes to, its kind of a hippocritical post you made.
Well all the times I've whined on these forums, it worked out for the better. Things were cleared up, I was responded to by devs, and things are being fixed. I wouldn't say that all threads are great or trolls... but really. Who are you to whiteknight everything? It's a forum. Opinions are gonna be posted and people are gonna bitch. Get used to it and don't contribute to those threads.
This. The reputation that the forums are full of "whiners" seems to be based on the fact that some, or maybe even a lot of the criticisms that people have of the game are worded in a manner that is extremely negative. That does not make their points any less valid.
While someone may be "whining" or being excessively rude, I think it's fair to say that most of us want this game to succeed, and so we criticize its flaws in the hopes that this game will become more polished, and to that end, more popular and enjoyable. If there were no criticism from the few of us that post here, this game would have failed a long time ago (edit: what I mean is that if we pretended that the game was all flowers and sunshine twelve months ago, then we'd probably still be playing a shit game, and paying for it, if it even lasted that long. The game still needs player criticism today as much as it did at launch, and in beta/alpha).
Anyway, the OP is clearly trolling as illustrated by the last sentence in their post, so that's as much as I'll say.

To be perfectly honest I hope the community rep's are careful about what they tag for the developers to read because there are a ton of trolls who post crap here who BARELY play the game and go off "he said she said" or end up just trolling whats trendy after the patch of complaints. I too fear for the future of this game when you have just as many trolls on this forum complaining as on MMO-Champion forums.
Some of the complaints are solid about issues that need to be addressed but most of it is nonsense trolling and that is such a shame.

Silly post is silly.
From what I gather SE are trying to provide an enjoyable experience for everyone, thats not just the people who came over from FF11 who are used to those hard and akward archaic systems.
SE wants this game to be accessible to all, especially the casual player many of who will come to this game when its released on the PS3.
As the post above me stated in their signature, "On these forums baseless whining equals an opinion different from your own."
Its very true.
Example being to the OP who came in one of my threads designed to provide a suggestion to the developers only to disagree multiple times just to make his/her point and make my thread look like it had received a negative response.
Whining works both ways, your antics in the post i mentioned above were proof of that.
1) so you want the developers to ignore pretty much the only source of feedback they get on how well people are enjoying updates/content because the "real" players play the game and do not frequent the forums thus they have no voice
2) you don't give any examples as to how "whining" has led to an adverse change/update that the game was better off without
3) you say that the game is great now and is improving, but you say that the developers are caving in to the "whiners" this is implies that you are enjoying changes that are being influenced by forum "whining", so aren't you contradicting yourself here?
