Forums can be used to accurately gauge player reactions, such as when a player notices something flawed in game and makes a thread about it on the forum.

Topics made with the purpose of encouraging the removal of something in the game that affects player status should be rightfully ignored by the dev team when making decisions on assigning priority to patch contents.
I can appreciate your how your trying to agree with the OP. But after this

And the thread it referes to, its kind of a hippocritical post you made.

Yeah and the crap you posted in there wasn't saying "I'm glad you corrected yourself" or anything in that manner. Instead, like 50% of the forum users have to post something irrelevant and try to be witty to get a couple of likes. Your just dragging the situation longer than it needs to be and causing more drama on these forums.

Well all the times I've whined on these forums, it worked out for the better. Things were cleared up, I was responded to by devs, and things are being fixed. I wouldn't say that all threads are great or trolls... but really. Who are you to whiteknight everything? It's a forum. Opinions are gonna be posted and people are gonna bitch. Get used to it and don't contribute to those threads.

Judging from the 'likes' the OP has achieved in the short time it has been posted, i would suggest that those that responded negatively, are those that the OP is suggesting that SE ignore.
    Gotta love that!

It's a balance for deciding between what is a feature that will ultimately be good for the people playing the game, and what is a flaw or mistake.

Unfortunately the only most common basis we have on these points are entirely opinionated or ground in conjecture.

There's a difference between constructive criticism and bitching. Constructive criticism is there to help give feedback to the devs about our feelings on the current systems in place in the game. Bitching is just whining about things that particular person simply doesn't like, often with little factual basis behind them.

People need to come off the notion that they're entitled to the devs taking everything they say seriously. I think the devs should listen but take every suggestion with a grain of salt. Listen but consider whether or not the issue is actually an issue and if it needs any kind of resolution.

And sometimes bitching is just constructive criticism mixed with the anger and frustration of the issue. Doesn't make it unconstrctive, its siply bad presentation of the issue.

The problem I see here the most, is people complain before they really experience it, because they believe they will be unhappy, or the changes being implimented do not match there original ideal solution.

Can't really disagree with that, however, which of the following do you think a developer would be more receptive to?

    1. A poster angrily venting about a feature that he/she doesn't like, layered with smug and pretentious jabs, sprinkled with insults?

    2. A poster who is upset about a feature that he/she doesn't like, coupled with clear and concise facts and examples supporting why that feature is not so good.

I would assume #2 would be more open to reception, yes? Presentation is key, my friend.

So the OP loves the changes and the direction the game is heading in. The OP acknowledges that the changes are due to the people who are protesting on the forums. Then the OP asks SE to NOT listen to the people on the forums, cuz all they do is complain. But the changes that are coming are GOOD changes that everyone (including OP) loves, but they're bad because it's from complainers on the forums, so they're good and should be listened to, but they're bad--but the OP-- good--b-bad-- OP complaining about complainers so OP bad-good-- but--- b-b782--*]€~>~+\£¥[DOESNOTCOMPUTEDOESNOTCOMPUTEDOESNOTCOMPUTE!!!

Whenever patch notes are added the most striking thing I notice is the majority of modifications come off the back of topics posted on these forums. Unfortunately the greater majority of people who use these forums are those looking for somewhere to whine, troll, flame and insult people, rather than spending their time actually playing the game.
You should give the community you're posting in a little bit more credit. Yes, there is some trolling and whining, but there's plenty of intelligent posts out there too. You shouldn't be concerned that they're just going to listen to the stupid people because stupid people exist. You should have a little more faith that the community team is smart enough (because they are) to forward the logical, cohesive, well-written feedback and not the OMGZORZ FIX DIS BROKEN CRAP feedback.'

Also, to put the above person's words more plainly, it is a bit hypocritical to recognize that good changes have come from them listening to the community but then tell them to stop listening to the community. It really doesn't make a lot of sense.

This, and seen from the other side, trust that the devs have tools and knowledge to sort this mess out and obtain the overall direction and strength of the reactions to ideas proposed here.

There's also the Like! button that gives voice to people who prefer not writing a post.

Also, many things pointed out in the forums are obvious and are worked on already, so we should not be too fast at pointing out at the devs for going on with something that was suggested in the forums.
