Retainer ventures and crafting navigation is really unclear

Let me walk you through one of the many times I've had troubles with finding items for my retainer to gather, or to craft something on my own.

""I need my lv.60 miner retainer to get me some Iron Ore. Is it within lv.1-5 ventures? Lv. 5-10? Lv 10-15?

Hmm I need to get some yew lumber. What level range was it in again? 10-15? 15-20?""

You can imagine here there are multiple times I'm having to click around just to find an item that I'm looking for.

    So what's the major problem?

It's that intuitively grouping items within level ranges doesn't make any sense.

If I asked you what level would a Snurble Tuft be it's hard to really define exactly what level it is. Then why are items grouped up in levels then?

I get it, items are probably group within level ranges as the player needs to usually be around that level to craft/gather them.

But obviously once you surpass the whole levelling process, looking back to try find/craft those items again is very inefficient in the manner they are categorised in now.

It would be much easier if items for Retainer Ventures and the crafting window be separated within categories of items. For example, we should have an Ore category for miners and a Lumber category for Carpenters.

I also know that in the crafting window there is a way to filter items, but I really want to be able to see ALL of the items within the category across ALL level ranges. So for example, let me see all the lumber recipes and not just the lumber recipes between lv. 10-15 range.

The whole interface which utilises level ranges like this has long been a very inefficient way of navigating items to craft/gather. This really needs to be updated going forward for us players to simply be able to 'use' the game much easier.

Anyone else feel the same way when trying to navigate through these menus?

to get at first. you can bypass the 1000 limit by editing your post.

for what was said on the trying to find what you are looking for. i like the way it is set up myself. it is not the best way i agree. though for the way it is set up it is simple to navigate. just takes memory to know where you go.

I personally like the way that the crafting window is set up right now, but I think it will get a bit easier with the upcoming search feature. I do agree that the Retainer Venture interface could be a bit more useful, maybe instead of level ranges, have them grouped together into lumber, herbs, or reagents or something like that, just to make it easier to find the item that I want. I'm not sure if the search feature is going to work here or not as well, but it would be welcomed if it does!

I agree the level ranges are awkward. Category divisions instead would have been a better interface for all but the earliest levels. However, at least it looks like the Recipe Search / Item Search should help. That seems to bring stuff from multiple level ranges. (At least it does for gathering items. Presumably it does for crafting recipes as well, though the example image in the patch notes only showed the first range with their "Bronze" example.)

If I had to guess... the UI leader doesn't play the game himself much. And rather than actually trying to improve things he comes up w/ long elaborate excuses why they "can't" be improved. Which appear completely fabricated and very misleading. Like when asked about increasing the number of macros, the response was "We can't add more macros because we would have to change the file format. That would require converting your existing macro file and if we that you might loose all your existing macros in the conversion process."

It's also very possible that all the existing staff are busy working on other projects, and don't have the time. I believe they have at least two or three other major titles in the works. Including FFXV and Kingdom Hearts 3. Having so many major projects in the pipeline is a huge strain on resources.
