    Help! My Launcher didn't update

    And when I try to log in, I get this!

    Did you try all those things listed

    EDIT LOL@POST LIMIT

    Clear your internet history and cache and try it again.. I doubt you have a proxy server setting (ask the person who runs the internet in your house..if at a public place then skip). If worse comes t worse a full reinstall will most likely do the trick (but take forever )

    If tried deleting temp files. I don't know how to do the 2nd thing. If I were to reinstall, do I need to delete the game first? Will I lose all my hotbars and things/.

    Your hotbars, inventory sort, macros, and similar things are stored in a folder that is located by default at:
    C:\Users\<User Name>\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn

    The folders that start with FFXIV_CHR... have the information in them, there's one for each character. You can copy those to save your info.

    I've read on another site if you're having that issue to go to your documents/My games/FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn and open FFXIV Boot

    Make sure 'BootVersionCheckMode' is set to 1, save and restart the Launcher, and then it will work. I'll cross my fingers that you won't have to reinstall everything.

    Found this solution from a forum post way back, worked for me (first step).

    Some things that can solve the problem:
    1. Uncheck the case "Read Only" in the Properties of your Square-Enix and My Games/Final Fantasy XIV: ARR folders
    2. Run as administrator
    3. Use compatiblity mode to XP.

    That worked for me last time I had this problem. But that's still a shame we have to go through this to update every time, and since the beginning of beta tests.

    This is what my folder looks like. When I try to open the top item (the only thing that says Boot in it) it won't open. What am I looking for?
