You are, however, allowed to use every in-game trick in the book to adjust angles and your body position, and when all else fails you can get a friend to take a screenshot for you from a different angle. Also, taking videos and going through frame by frame for action shots is allowed. (SE's camera is a little slow sometimes.)

When I judged, I felt that the use of additional NPCs and PCs as "actors" in shots worked out well to the advantage of many of the models. The goal is to tell a story with each screen shot.

To further clarify, the idle camera is totally fine. If you think you can get a great shot through it then by all means use it.

The idea behind not allowing manipulation is that it unfairly balances the contest against people who either don't have access to or the skill with the software that would be involved in doing so.

Hello!
I've been watching these contests for a while so I decided to try my luck this time. However, I have a couple questions first!

1) Are instances allowed locations for audition shots or is it overworld only?
2) About "Heavensward based" - does this include ilvl-restricted content (apart from ilvl90 for Steps)? As in, could access to new content like the Diadem or Void Ark be required? I ask because I'm incredibly slowly at gearing up so I won't do either of those in the foreseeable future...

1) Instances are fine!

2) That's a great question. While I can't go into great detail without spoiling the themes of the rounds to come, I can promise you that there is no round that would block anyone because of iLvl. Diadem and Void Ark will -not- be required for any round. Certain rounds will require contestants to have reached particular points in the story to access particular areas of the game - but only overworld areas. That said, a contestant could take part in every round without even having completed the 3.0 main storyline.

Just curious, does this go for the group camera as well?
