Excerpt from Letter Live XVIII last year.
Is this feature still being considered? i think we all would adore it to be brought to realisation, expecially with the coming new grand company ranks.
Excerpt from Letter Live XVIII last year.Q10: In a previous interview, you mentioned that we will able to tackle instanced dungeons by ourselves. Are there still plans to implement this feature?
A10: Yes, there are still plans to implement this feature. While there isn’t too much we can reveal at this time, just to give you a preview, we are currently discussing a new type of content where you will control your own unit for your grand company, add NPCs in your unit, and take them to dungeons to level them up.

it was most likely scrapped for the unsynced party system honestly, which is a shame, it might have been cool to see this
it's my hope (albeit very small hope) that Bayohne might chime in with further information. :3 after all, he was the one who brought us the information originally. And he is our most huggable Titan and former Morbol.
Probably part of planned new kind of content for 3.2 or 3.3.
I'm already curious about what new kind of content they're going to add... (since they specified new kinds of content as a reason to go down to 2 dungeons instead of 3).
I have a feeling it's going to come with the increase in Company ranks available. All the ranks after the current max of second lieutenant are all notable as command ranks in real world militaries. Once we start sporting birds and stars it's only reasonable that the Companies would have us command NPC troops in battles against Imperial forces. We got a taste of what this'd be like in the single player dungeons early in the 3.0 story (as well as how useless those NPCs would be...).
They've mentioned wanting new content for Grand Companies, rather than the same "Bring me X seals" for new ranks. I imagine this could be part of that, though I'd much rather see Hamlet Defense return...
