I am not sure if someone suggested this or not, but I was thinking what if we had speech bubbles for our character?
So anything we type in /say pops up in the speech bubble above our character.

Sounds like a good idea, and if there was an option to put macro sayings in them that'd be great too. Sometimes I miss important warnings or messages because my chat gets bombarded with <se.#> *insert raise pun*
people have ben asking this since 2.0 launch. it is a resource hog for them the way everything is set up. so we would just be getting another "no" answer.
I'd actually like to be able to turn off NPC speech bubbles and just have the text display in my chat log like usual. FATE NPCs with speech bubbles often move around and overlap each other too much for me to even be able to read it. Also, Good King Moogle Mog fight is a targeting nightmare with all the speech bubbles (IMO)
i fully agree with that. i find the bubbles annoying. even some NPCs that do have the bubbles do not show up in the text. so if i really want to know what they are saying. i am running left and right trying to activate the bubble again to try to finish reading what is actually there. the overlapping is also a nuisance to a lot of different people.I'd actually like to be able to turn off NPC speech bubbles and just have the text display in my chat log like usual. i turn off all my bubbles in other games as well. some of the other speech bubbles go through and you can see them 4 rooms away. it got really annoying having them pop up in other games.
though that is me.
