Basically exp will begin to degrade if members are outside the optimum range (+/-5 levels?)

So now, as it was originally intended, a rank 50 in a party with anyone pretty much under 40 will cause no one to get exp. Meaning PLing must be done from outside the party now.

I'm not sure this is correct. Assuming they are going back to an exp formula similar to pre 1.19, PLing (in the same way) is still very possible, just at a slightly slower rate than post 1.19.

Can anyone explain this to me? Before 1.19, we were able to have a level 50 and a level 1 in the same party. Then if we fought level 10 mobs, the level 50 char got no exp but the level 1 chars would. Is that still the case? Or is it more like if the level 50 gets normal exp, the level 1 will get none?

In 1.19 plvl was possible from within the group, now plvl has to be while not grouped up. Meaning lower level has to claim the mob before it can be killed no more afk leveling.

All I hope for at this point is that PL will be truly voluntary effort and not something that benefits him as much as the player getting PL'd (through a party of 8 PLvling themselves taking turns).

In 1.19 plvl was possible from within the group, now plvl has to be while not grouped up. Meaning lower level has. To claim the mob before it can be killed no more afk leveling.

That was possible before 1.19, just slightly differently.

let me explain the difference.

POST 1.19 PLing
group consists of 1 level 50 and 7 level 35s
the 50 kills everything while the rest watch, the level 35s get more exp than the level 50
everyone got exp

PRE 1.19 PLing
group consists of 1 level 50 and 7 level 1s
the 50 kills everything but the level 1s only get exp if the level 50 gets none or very little
only the low level chars get exp

Really i didnt kno it was possible to attack claimed mobs outside of party in 1.18

but you could still be 50 in a group of low ranked people and get them tons of easy quick exp back then too

And now:

Post 1.19a PLing

2 groups, the low level group and the level 50(s) powerleveling them.
The low level group engages an enemy (likely within 10 levels of their own), claims enemies, level 50 kills them and the low level group gets full EXP.

Hmmm yah i remember that, it wasnt as good tho, doubt they will go back to a similar xp formula as 1.18 as they dont want players going afk.
