Is it time to buy Heavensward yet?

I just finished the Main Story Quests last. I have leveled Botany to 20 and Mrd high enough to get my Dragoon class. Should I go ahead and get Heavensward so i'm getting EXP while doing stuff or concentrate on leveling other DOL and DOH classes first? I am going to eventually level other DOW and DOM classes but want to finish the story line with my Dragoon first.

It's up to you with what classes and jobs you want to lvl but If your going to complete the lvl50 main story quests I do reccomend buying HW because by the time you reach HW quests you'll be like around lvl54 and you won't hit lvl walls during HW quests. If it were me I would try to get to lvl60 as fast as possible to do endgame stuff and get to void ark before SE tweaks it. You can always lvl your DoH and DoL whenever, or lvl them while you wait for que or when you want to take a break of quests.

Ok, thank you. While I was finishing "The Praetorium" last night and the follow up quests I realized I could have been gaining EXP but I didn't get any b/c I didn't have heavensward yet. So I think I'm going to go ahead and get it asap.

Do you know if the Heavensward disk for PS4 acts as an update for the game, or do you have to always have the disk in to play? Like could I buy a used copy at gamestop or is it like ARR where its a one time use then you don't need the disk anymore?

it acts just like ARR. one time code to a license. no used copies since it is a license issue. so always buy these types of MMOs brand new.

To be honest the second you hit 49 would be an opportune time to get HW since the story quests during lvl 50 gives you exp (not much but compiled it's basically two levels) I went through the whole ordeal on my alt and had a headstart and thus didn't have to grind for levels to continue on the main scenario.

confirming this, i'm level 56 by the time i entered ishgard. i got to this level by just doing side quest, MSQ and some DF runs to aquire poetics to complete ironworks set
