Turn on the patch server already

The NPC AI leaves much to be desired and most creatures don't drop any loot.

Every time I try to PvP the GM's show up. :c

I find the players and npc's in most mmos boring myself though, so it's all subjective.

Also real life online is like monster hunter, the loot is ON the dead monsters <_> it's not near them unless you're in their lair.

I will say Guilds and FC's are FAR too overpowered though they can literally control your game experience if you don't flee the to next zone/continent.

Apparently people want it like XI style when there was a server maintenance every 5 minutes.

Availability of the patch for download will depend on how much time is required for the planned Infrastructure Maintenance. They will not install the servers with the patch til that is done, checked out and found to be reliable.

Ideally the patch server should be sitting completely separate from the game servers; anything else is bad infrastructure. That way they can do maintenance on the patch server, make sure it's in mint condition, turn off the game, and do maintenance on the game servers while everyone hammers the patch server to get their clients up to date.

Ya, infrastructure is definitely gonna cause patch to come later.

This is my guess as to what they need to do.

thats why internal servers exists , i doubt SE test things on live servers like that :/

Do you? Do you genuinely doubt this? Has anything they have done in the past with servers led you to believe they have an actual real-life-comparison testing environment?

As someone already said: patch server != game servers. No reason to have patch server down for the duration of game server maintenance. Although the weirdest thing is you think somehow server maintenance is affected by patch downloads. That REALLY would be some epic server design feck-ups: we're talking junior dev mistakes here.

So for the sake of those of us on slow connections, for whom the patch may well take hours to download, just TURN ON the patch server so we can start downloading. Please.

Thing is... I may be asleep when the servers come up so can everyone wait for the sake of those of us who need hours of sleep please. (Takes tongue out of cheek!)

Is that why games like WoW can push 95% of the patch weeks before patching the servers?

It's not rocket science, no. But it IS computer science - all the data relating to the new dungeons, the textures, the new armors, all that? That is NOT going to change just because a small bug is found in how /grouppose works. ALL THAT DATA should be available for download right now.
