Turn on the patch server already

Look, I get that you don't want people to do a lot of data-mining by preloading the patch while the game servers are still up, but data mining will not allow ANYONE to get an unfair advantage now, as no one can get to the market boards.

So for the sake of those of us on slow connections, for whom the patch may well take hours to download, just TURN ON the patch server so we can start downloading. Please.

I agree with you entirely, but I don't think the team has enough time to see this post, contact the Japanese team in charge of that and get it done. Especially the case since they'd have to get Yoshida's approval, and I'd have to assume he's at home/asleep.

Yeah, but it's fully PvP with no respawns, the characters are boring, and it's incredibly grindy. You also have to micromanage clothing to deal with your temperature variable and there's those annoying hunger/thirst CDs.

Speaking as someone who has done data center maintenance, I would say it's likely that they are using this downtime to actually apply some patches to the server OSes as well. That includes the download server.

It'll come up when it comes up.

I'm sure someone will post in this thread when the patch server comes up. And I assume the patch server will be up sometime this evening.
