They need an economist on their team cause this isn't going well. But people wanted this so bad thou. This will cause a specialist meta and the solo or smaller FCs will be at huge disadvantage due those MB gangs...

As others have said things will hinge on material acquisition and specialist recipe locking. Personally I'm disgusted with specialist recipes and believe they will do nothing but hurt the economy and game.

better if they make the aetherial equipment from diadem is not convertable, so the demand will be insanely high, because that gear is only reliable source for materia V, but im not sure if they will make it that far.
I thought someone said you can get materia from a airship vendor by turning in unwanted gear? Rather than SB?

They've played around with the wording, and are now referring to the stuff you can get as "Spoils." Even if materia is among the spoils, I doubt Tier V will be cheap.

The specialist recipes will just be some furniture this patch, SE is testing the waters to see how well it goes over.

It's doubtful that they'll be only furniture. ARM received only left-side combat gear recipes this patch, and I doubt they would introduce Specialist recipes without giving at least one to each DoH. Whether all of the combat gear or only some of it falls under Specialist recipes remains to be seen though.

Yea, I doubt that too... If they make specialist recipes only for furniture, then it'll render the Whistle system even more useless than it already is... After all, it's a system that supposed to help push quality. What's point of applying this specialist system on furniture which don't need quality, right?

Every crafting job doesn't always get everything. Culinarian was left out of melding. If they make the crafted gear specialist only, that overloads ARM/GSM/LTW/WVR very heavily.

If those materials turn out to be specialist recipes, I think a large number of crafters are going to have the same specializations (wvr, ltw, bsm) unless the gear pieces are specialist recipes as well.....

The recipes for the i185 gear seem interesting as they more resemble materials that you would expect for 1* gear instead. Perhaps they've been designed to be more accessible in terms of required materials than the i180s, although specializations might be required. Aside from serving as viable battle gear, they might also be marketable as glamour pieces.

But they probably *do* want people to have a reason to specialize in each craft and all crafts have access to Specialization as it stands. My suspicion at this point is that one piece out of each crafted gear set will be a Specialized recipe (probably the body) or two pieces (if they also include the legs piece). I'm guessing all of the furniture is also Specialized stuff.

But I highly doubt they'd exclude one craft in the patch where they introduced the special recipes to begin with. It wouldn't be fair to those that specialized in ARM. Melding was a bit of a different case because Culinarian doesn't have any gear types associated with it. It's not as though they couldn't add a furniture item for ARM if they were going to make those the only things that are Specialized.

Yes, they actually look more like 1* recipes to me, too, which makes a certain degree of sense. We might be moving to a structure in which we see more frequent "catch up" sets being given to crafters, perhaps in the odd-numbered patches. Law gear would be kind of silly to upgrade for a fresh 60 now, since those seals can also be used to upgrade Esoterics starting tomorrow, so it's possible they reasoned that another option to get reasonably geared would be necessary to allow for gearing while you wait on Esoterics caps.

I wouldn't be surprised if they only added Specialist recipes for some Classes. When Red Scrips and 2-Star recipes were released CUL didn't get a single new recipe, so they aren't above leaving a Craft out of an update.
