New crafted i185 in 3.1... will it temporarily save crafting?

Crafted Sky Pirate's Gear Set i185 now available in 3.1!
...vs the non-crafted i210, the ilevel difference is 25!
In my opinion it's still too big... don't you guy think the difference should be within 20 ilevel?

I would assume these items will render the previously 2 star i180 obsolete (well, they were obsolete before anyway... just "more" obsolete now. LOL).

Will these items be popular on the market?

I think they're VERY VIABLE for sale to gear up casual FC members for i179 to do Airship Exploratory Missions or to get them over i175 for Void Ark!

However, they do require the mats:
    - Pterodactyl
    - Sphalerite
    - Cloud Cotton Boll

...which are apparently from Airship Missions to begin with. So ultimately, it'll come down to how hard it is to obtain these mats from the missions!

    EDIT:

These gear will also be used for spiritbonding/converting into Tier V materia. That will be another important function of i185. Thanks iambanana for the input!

    EDIT2:
It is now known that they are Specialist Recipes and are 2 star items.

iambanana has confirmed that these gear has NO MATERIA SLOTS. They're practically useless in end-game raids like Alex Savage. Their only functions are to make people's ilevel go up faster for Void Ark / Airship Missions and spiritbond to Tier V materia. Maybe they'll still sell OK on the MB? But it's not anything too great...

Crafting is quite doomed until 3.2!

Well i'm surprises that the new crafted gear have only... 5 level difference with the previous one...
The main change is how you gather the comp...

i180 is former comp with red script
i185 is mainly on the diadème

We need to see the stat and how it is with some materia to see if it's viable or not

But with more i200/i210 stuff available...
    They might be useless...
=> except for materia V farming if possible

It all depends on how expensive the mats will be. If the end product is affordable, then sure, it will be bought. It has the same ilevel as the new dungeon gear. So it's nothing for the masses. I don't like the design too much, but tastes are different...

Will it be used for savage clears? Not sure about that. You can now easily upgrade your eso gear to 210 without spending a single gil. Why waste gil on melds.

they will be used for materia V farming, and the material is grindable via airship exploration, so the price will not be that expensive.

better if they make the aetherial equipment from diadem is not convertable, so the demand will be insanely high, because that gear is only reliable source for materia V, but im not sure if they will make it that far.

I was expecting better to be honest, at the very least ilv 190. I agree, they will be the primary source of Type V Materia, I wonder if they will adjust Materia conversion of ilv 170 Crafting Gear? I assume the next set of crafting gear will require Type V melds to max them out.

On an unrelated note, I wish they would list Materia stats on gear a bit different, like green text to signify that the attribute is MAXED on the gear. Sometimes when players see Red text, they think the melder messed up...

The currently gear need grade V to be maxed up

And no the green text is useless with the red message on melding that... People should read... (Yup basic thing... Read the message)

I would have expected i190 too (basically, make i190 the new base). I guess they're 5 item levels lower because of the potential for melding.

Hopefully they have nice models as well and aren't reskins like half of the i180 gear was.

Indeed, that will be another important functions to these new i185 gear! I'll updated the original post with this.

    That's a wonderful suggestion!

It's interesting to note that outside of possibly the new materials, none of these seem to require two-star mats. They use the Grade 1 Dissolvents, not the Grade 2 ones, for instance.

That should make them a lot easier to work with than the i180 ones were.

I am definitely going to fill one of my retainer's Market Board with Max-Ethers, too, which will feel really good. I wish they had given us new primary stat potions too, though. That market's going to be a little crowded.

I know you have a special love for ALC, Alahra! I really hope they will eventually fix that God damn "1 synthesis per potion" problem for you.
